This is an invitation for everyone to join us to discuss Knights of the Old Republic. #starwarsknights is on the IRC.gamesurge.net. If you don't have mIRC already, you need to go to www.mirc.com and download it. Then when you get to select your mIRC options, make sure the server you choose is a gamesurge server....then just type in the channel you want to go to...in this case type in #starwarsknights. :D

Once you get there, we will hopefully answer any questions you might have. I look forward to seeing you there! :)

EDIT: If you are having problems and already have mIRC (www.mirc.com) installed. Try this link (irc://irc.gamesurge.net/starwarsknights) to get there more quickly. :)

EDIT: The server has changed to "gamesurge.net" so I made the appropriate changes. - ChAiNz.2da :)

For other IRC clients (such as mIRc) It's #starwarsknights on irc.gamesurge.net

Once you have the program installed, type:

/server irc.gamesnet.net <enter>
/join #starwarsknights <enter>

and then just say whatever you want to say, and press <enter>

While I'll confess that this was as of two months ago, I have never ever seen anyone active in that IRC channel before.

:)

Maybe it's time to check again.

MiRC free for 30 days? Nope it must be free forever.
And MiRc is a chatroom.

Actually mIrc is a chat "client" not a chatroom. You use mIrc to log in to various channels/chatrooms...

I'm guessing this is a totally dead issue at this point, as there's been about as much traffic through this channel as through my room at home (i.e., me). i'll idle periodically tho.

Yeah, it is. I've been there a little recently and sometimes nobody is there. It's too bad, really.

I just wanted to bring up that the channel doesn't even have any channel operators in it, or at least none are there whenever I join, and I idle in there most of the day normally.

Also, I think if people would join it more often the channel could be a pretty cool place to chat and maybe it would take some of the chatting/spam away from Ahto. So I hope people will consider coming to #starwarsknights and liven the place up a bit.

I'll come! I can't believe I never looked in this sticky. I was on earlier--The Doctor, jmac, and I had a wonderfully engaging conversation (which I had to cut short unexpectedly-sorry jmac).

Anyway, if anyone ever wants to chat, I'll be in there. ;)

I suppose we could always schedule something. That might kick things off again. If people know there would be others there, more people might join in the future.

Is there anyone here who would object to replacing the clunky mIRC chat client with a simple Javascript client? You wouldn't have to download any 3rd party software to use it... just browse to the webpage and start chatting (shoutbox style).

But this can connect to multiple servers, and has tab! TABS! Tabs, may I unoficially add, are great for trolling.

For those of you that don't want to have to deal with an IRC client, there is a Java-based webapp from which you can access our channel.

http://www.gamesurge.net/chat/starwarsknights

Have at it and don't be shy. :3

Starwarsknights.com has opened an AJAX chatbox for the public. You can get to it be clicking the Chat link on starwarsknights.com or by clicking here (http://www.starwarsknights.com/chat.php).

Weird that you guys use Gamesurge as the "main" IRCserver :xp: #echonet, #lucasforums #starwarsknights are all on Gamesurge.

QuakeNet is alot bigger and you could probably attract more people to join there.
