It's good when starting a thread to post a funny pic or joke yourself...

Since you started the thread DharkBayne, maybe you could do the same in your post.

Not really....

I think I would try to find a different funny pic then. You should try to be involved in your own threads at least. ;)

See that right there. That's a pic I posted. Now you try posting one. :D

Funclown, request you divert your course from politics- A place never to go when in cyberspace.

I had an image in mind to post here, but I can't seem to find it. I'll post it later.

That radio conversation was proven to be totally bogus (http://www.snopes.com/military/lighthse.htm)

Sorry, I meant nothing by it. I thought it was really funny when I read it, not because it is making fun of the US but because a fella got really upset at a lighthouse.

Oh well, here are other things about how companies market their products overseas. Only not all is as it seems.

- Scandinavian vacuum manufacturer Electrolux used the following in an American campaign: Nothing sucks like an Electrolux.

- When Gerber started selling baby food in Africa, they used the same packaging as in the US, with the beautiful Caucasian baby on the label. Later they learned that in Africa, companies routinely put pictures on the label of what's inside, since most people can't read English.

- In Italy, a campaign for Schweppes Tonic Water translated the name into "Schweppes Toilet Water".

Here is one last one. If its not allowed mods can delete it.

An Aussie guy walks in to a bar and sees his mates laughing at him. The guy walks over to them and his friends say "Way to go last night, leaving the blinds open with your wife."

The Aussie bloke starts laughing "The jokes on you guys. I wasn't with my wife last night".
