Well it's been said by the devs and starstrider wont be one of the starting severs sooo. what do you think.

06-19-2003, 12:09 AM
I'm not sure on this one.

06-19-2003, 12:41 AM
I hate to wait for the server to open up, but I still think we should stay with Starsider. A lot of friends and other PAs are going there.

06-19-2003, 01:13 AM
I think we should move to a different server. One that isn't that popular, so most of us can get the names we want.

06-19-2003, 02:53 AM
I'm sure we'll get the names we want.

06-19-2003, 03:03 AM
I am impressed by how many people said "move" We will have to see how this turns out.

Let's just stay guys, we decided starsider along time ago after many debates. We will only have to wait for a few days to start probally guys. :)

06-19-2003, 04:45 AM
Uh....if our server won't be there we have to move.

Unless my logic is wrong...

06-19-2003, 05:48 AM
I'm staying on starsider. But if the PA goes else where...

06-19-2003, 08:41 AM
I say stay.

You prob can have another character on a dif server. Get used to your starting proffession, when starsider comes up we'll all be good.

06-19-2003, 09:05 AM
I voted stay, starsider will be up within the first week, dont worry :D

06-19-2003, 01:41 PM
I voted STAY, because we have everything planned out, and just because we cannot go there right away does not mean we cannot stick to our plans.

Allow those of us to get a feel for the game, then when Starstrider opens, we can go there fully prepared. If we do that, we could have our PA City up within a week or two, if the architects build up their skills fast enough.

I vote move. After playing EQ for almost 4 years I have seen the negative impact of moving to an overcrowded server on day 1. If the server starts out overcrowded it never gets better, more and more people join it because they have friends and thier friends join and so on and so on.

Full servers mean more crashes, more lag, more competition. And I know SWG is a huge place (I actually got to make my character and do some combat today) but no matter where you go to find a place to be alone and do your resource gathering or hunting, some jerk always seems to find you and decide he wants to move in on your area hehe.

I voted stay because while we wait for Starsider we can all take our sweet time getting used to the gameplay, interface, starting profession, commands, locations, starting missions, and so on so when Starsider does open we won't be "in the dark" about the game.

Great I was hopeing we would stay.:D

I guess as long as we all play together...I don't care where we play. I am very well rounded and willing to go wherever/whenever.

It is actually in our benefit, Murashu, that Starsider is opened later, becasue it reduces the amount of people flooding into it. Many will get impatient and just start out in some other server, i.e. "The flamer/ trolling players who do not particularly care what server they are on." The dedicated players who are smitten with Starsider already will wait for it, and becasue we all waited for it, the Starsider server players have a common bond: "We were patient and waited, let us not ruin the server for others." The game oriented and trolling players will have already settled down on other servers.

As we sneak in the back door, less idiots notice that we, the Starsiders, are even around, and therefore leave us alone.

P.S. This COULD be worded a LOT better, but I believe it gets the point across.

Announcer: "Marashu had em for a while but out of nowhere came the All Mighty Sunshine Badass!!! Laying the smack down!!!"

But seriously it is still only 52%...thats the margin Bush won with and you know how well that went over... :(

Yeeaah ... didn't he get the least %ig of votes? :D

I say move, It will be a pain to switch main characters when starsider does come up... or actually now I am kinda changing my mind, When starsider does come up alot of the RP people in swg will quickly move in there and the counter-strike lamers will (hopefully) just stay where they are making our gaming expieriance alot nicer :D I dunno anymore I say stay :P

06-20-2003, 04:37 PM
I would like to argue in favor of moving. I am in beta now, and grinded my way to droid engineer kicking and screaming. A number of us plan on being Architecs, weaponsmith, or other crafters for the PA. It makes zero sense for us to make and destroy (or sell what you can but don't get your hopes up) stuff and then start over a week later. People will get burned out , trust me. After making droids for a week now, I shudder to think of going back to making 1,112 bofa treats to get to the next level. It is all well in good for the combat classes because they can hunt anywhere and starting over is no big deal.

I implore everyone to switch to another sever. I want to play my "real" character from day one, not a week later. If that was the case, why did I preorder?

Please take this into consideration leaders.

Nobody is forcing you to start right away. Why don't you make a fighter(or whatever you want) on another server and have some fun screwing around? Since you probablly already know what u are going to be then just go screw around on the other server.

I don't think anyone that is planning to stay at Starstrider is going to make a serious character on the other servers unless they are just tweaking the one they are going to make in Ss.

Either way I think we should stay because we have it all planned and perhaps this is a benifet, getting rid of all the power-gammers.

I will get you, Goose_Of_Mercy. Basically re-wording what I have said previously... and then taking the credit for it!!!:D ;) :p J/K

Good advice is good advice.

Oh ur the one saying I copy Mr. Complaint Essay.

And I am proud for repeating (basically) what you said because just like on most forums the person who says it second gets the credit.

Maybe I just have better skillz then u do. You talk to "inteligently" and need to tone it down for us peeps.

Don't pull The Architect!!! (refrence to reloaded)

I will stay.

uhmm just saying people.. maybe its not a good idea to start on a croouded server... lets start on a quiet one and finf out together.. cause well.. poepl on crouded servers make friends easaly :D... and ona quiet server its easier to just look around and test a bit.. now there is one server on the list on SWG where NO one has posted before... the kaunig or something.... lets just try that one out... idea's?

06-22-2003, 10:56 AM
Sounds good. Are you saying that we all start there or we just go there for a temporary server before Starsider is open?

Mister E
06-22-2003, 02:23 PM
