This wasn't the Mojo hard drive, was it?

Ouch, that's like nightmare come true. Not that it hasn't already become true for me...

Easy Recovery (http://www.ontrack.com/easyrecovery/) works pretty well. But if you want to be able to recover more than 1 file you'll have to buy it. Quite a hefty price tag if you consider that you'll probably use it only once.

There are also free data recovery programs.
download.com seearch for "recovery" (http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=recovery&tg=dl-2001)
tucows.com search for "recovery" (http://search.tucows.com/search?search=recovery&platform_id=7%2C1565%2C1584%2C1570%2C1571%2C1725&language_id=1&type=exactany&site_detail_id=653&ref=)

You always need to recover the files to a destination other than the crashed drive (partition?).

i found that getdataback was infact the best program, and my entire catalogue of mp3s has been restored.

why the hell we are paying some geezer $5.000.000.000 dolalrs to recover our hard drive, taking over a month to do it is beyond me

i vote send the hard drive to me!!!!!

You spent $5? No wonder it's taking so long, they probably had to pay postage somewhere down the line.
