The "Madden Cover Curse" strikes again! I am, of course, talking about the covers of the popular video game series, "Madden". Madden is an (American) Football sports simulation game, and has been around for a while. In the 2000-2001 football season, the Madden series decided to put a pro football player on the cover. For 2000-2001 season, Eddie George was put on the cover. Eddie's previous season was fantastic, bringing his team all the way to the super bowl. The year he decided to put his face on the Madden cover, was a year filled with injury's.

In 2001-2002, Dante Cullpepper went on the cover. This was an amazing Quarterback, and was forseen to have a great season. Instead, one player from his team died, and another retired. His team did not even make the post-season.

In 2002-2003, Marshall Faulk went on the cover. He was an amazing running back his previous year, and got all the way to the super bowl. The season he appeared on the Madden cover started off with 3 quick losses, and his teams starting Quarterback becoming injured for most of the season.

Now for this years cover.

Mike Vick was the most explosive quarter back in the 2002-03 season. He did what seemed impossible. So, he signed a contract and put his face on the cover of Madden 2004. Today, even before the season started, he was injured in a preseason game. He is expected not to be able to play for 6 weeks.

Coincidence?
