Ok, new to this forum - so I guess that makes me bantha fodder. But I finnally have enough time to play like I want to.

Heres my question: Being a new father, how do I raise my kid to appreciate everything Star Wars, like I do and my wife doesn't (point of many contentions)?

Any advice is appreciated. Have fun with this.

I don't think you can...either the kid will like it or not.

Show him STar Wras Movies often. Give him Star Wars Playschool toys. Give him Star Wars Baby Books. But if he still doesn't like Star Wars, you have failed as a Father. (j/k :p)

Just let him decide. My dad never showed my anything Star Wars like, and i turned out to be a big fan. I didnt start loving Star Wars till i was 10 so, some people start early, some late.

Just watch starwars movies frequently until he shows some interest or play JKO more frequently until he shows more interest or do both. :D But don't do it too much that it gets annoying cause then he might get sick of it and hate it.

Anyways, i dont think you need to watch Star Wars to actually appreciate it. I mean, i had most of my figures before i watched the movie

I'd show him the movies personally, 'cause they are very cool.
'Course, I'm still not a very big fan of it. I don't collect anything from it, and I only have maybe 1 or 2 star wars games. I just like the movies really. :D

Although I don't know if exposing him to Star Wars is going to make him like it or hate it in the long run...I have some advice.

See, my sister has a 2.5 year old who loves Star Wars. He has a toy lightsaber and tries to mimick Obi-Wan, Maul, etc. whenever he gets the chance to watch the movies. He's a pretty big dork already :).

We got him into it by letting him play with various star wars toys and then showing him the movies. Once he associated the toys with the movies, he couldn't stop playing with the toys or demanding to watch the movies.

That's about all the advice I can give you, but who knows...my nephew might grow up and hate Star Wars...I used to love mushrooms when I was a kid and now I hate em!

Well, my parents brought me to the movie. But my dad or mom isn't a fan or anything. Its just a movie to them. I blame my dad for not having many vintage action figures. WHy couldn't he buy them when he was 20?! :cry8:

Very Cool Advice!!! Thanks all!

I still can't believe that some people were entralled, like I was, the first time I saw ANH. But hey, as long as your here, it doesn't matter how you got here!

I hope my kids love Star Wars, but I feel that along with religion you can't force it down their throats otherwise they'll end up hating it.

Thanks again!
