Escape from Fest - help

I know this is an old one but Ive only brought Rouge.S 3d recently. What are the best tips to just complete this level - Im not intrested in medals at this stage.
Is it true you dont need to take out the AT-AT nearest the 3 AT-PT at the begining? Is it best to destroy all gun turrents first or AT-ATs?
Also Ive found the bonus on this level but whats the best time to pick it up?

Thanks for the help, I completed it last night. Its true you dont need to take out the first AT-AT behind the dam to complete the level.
