I'm going to get JA on Christmas, but I was thinking do I actually have to wait that long for vehicles. Any way please post stuff about making vehicles in MP for JO.

Moders and Modelers WELCOME. Even if YOU personaly can't, please just say what could be done for this, if you know of anything that could actaully be done.

Please admins keep this up, I first want to get this thread some attention.

The JK2 engine doesn't do vehicles. So, I guess that's your "no way." You'll have to wait till you get Jedi Academy to try those out.

It does sort of.. i mean, look at the ATST. thats a vehicle. JK2 just lacks the animations, and certain other tags...

True, look at it like this, by the time someone gets its done (or working... ) it will probably be about christmas time anyways, so its not worth the time. Plus considering the JKII online gaming community is now almost dead, because of the release of JA, its not even worth making maps and stuff. Im finishing what i have fo rmy project, then continuing in JA.

Advice: If anyone is making a map for JK2, you might as well convert it to JA, because it probably wont get used much, if at all. Im basing this on what ive seen at www.jk2files.com the jk2 levels are barley getting downloaded.

Hey, well then I'll just have to wait till Christamas, in the mean time though can I like fly vehicles in the demo possibly. I've tried no clip and gotten into a box where you can see vehicles on the tatooine mission in the demo but I can't seem to use them, why is this or is it possible?

Yeah, i know what your talking about. You know how when your walking around, and you see ships fly by? Thats what those are. They are simply models. Sadly you cant use them. But dont feel too bad, i get ja for christmas also, it gives ya something to look forward to.

oh hang on... im sorry, in jk2 if you have the 1.04 patch, you can use the fly_xwing code... i tried it once, its nothing too amazing. But if you really want to drive some kind of vehicle, this is about the best you can do. Its really messed up, but it works ;)

load the console
type devmapall
type fly_xwing and it should run.

It's cool to talk to someone that's int he same position I am :) but stil it sucks not to have jka :( Anyway, do you know if you can fly the x-wing in an mp map? I've never really thought of this, THANKS.

BTW, I'm going to prolly make a big map pretty soon for the x-wing to try and not get it to crash as fast, but do think I should make it an MP or SP map.

You cant do it in MP. And you have to use cheats to fly it. You just place it in the map. All JA did was take advantage of this, by allowing you to actually see the ship, and use it. It also allows for hyperspace, and various other things (although from what i read in the JA mapping forum, its a bit buggy till we learn to use it)

heres a suggestion, if your new to mapping, make test maps right now for jk2, and learn the system. If you have time, learn scripting. I cant see a whole lot of maps staying alive long in JA without special scripted events happening. Try to learn the system, get practice, and work on detail. youll need lots of detail for your JA maps to survive.
