I was just wondering if there was still some good old Transformers fan, the best kids show to ever air on tv!
I'm talking about the old 80's serie, not the new piece of crap!

eh...I'm not a fan...I was kinda...a long time ago..

I was a HUGE Transformers fan, I mean REALLY HUGE. The recent re-releases of some of the classic toys have renewed my interest quite a bit.

Maybe if I had seen the series I would be a fan
I only saw the more or less recent beast wars series
I stopped watching after a couple of seasons though as the story degraded and went nowhere.
But I was a huge fan of that series though :D

*Kills Chase*

I grew up watching the original Transformers series...not this new one that's Gotta catch all the pokemon...err....minicons or whatever...

I have the first 2 seasons & part 1 of season 3 on dvd (boxed sets even). I also have a Decepticon logo T-shirt, Megatron poster, & the Transmormers Movie on vhs (will get it on DVD eventually). My favorite character is Grimlock.

"Me Grimlock! Me leader!!"

Transformers literally shaped my childhood XD I must have watched the movie a hundred times at least. It's so awesome! I just love them.

Beast Wars and the new Armada crap is bad though. Armada sounds like pokémon o_o

Yes it is. It was made for the Japanese public if I'm correct.

Beast Wars was cool at first because it was funny but when they started meddling with the Old serie's story it just got really really bad...

It's kind of weird actually, the Japanese got a different Transformers serie then the North Americans, perhaps it is why the new Armada is such crap and looks nothing like the good old stuff.

Beast Wars was made in Canada, home of a lot of lousy tv series*shrugs*

I hate Ultra Magnus because in the movie he kept getting killed. He is facing Galvatron down trying to open the Matrix and he just gets shot up. Then, the Junkions put him back together and he does nothing afterwards. Its all about Hotrod (who i hate because its because of him that Optimus died)

I just wanted to point out that the original Transformers series was, in fact, a japanese show. Meaning, made by japanese. The different incarnations of transformers were always following a trend. When it was first created, Transformers was riding on the mech trend created by Robotech... then Beast Wars was made after they saw the success of Reboot, back when 3D animation was the shiznit. And finally they made Armada to follow Pokémon's footsteps...

Darth Homer
11-03-2003, 03:28 AM
hmm, never really thought about it like that, Sherack...good point. However, I do believe that this was the first series to show giant bots that were not controlled by humans or other such beings (they were autonomous (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=autonomous)).

And to those who I'm sure can this of an earlier series, let me say this:
*sticks fingers in ears* LALALALALALALALALALA!!!!!!

And Ultra Magnus IS cool!

I hated it when Optimus died too.

The strange thing about it was how he turned black in a matter of seconds. I mean, ok, maybe he rusted, but THAT FAST!? Anyone know what really went on there?

Sherack Nhar
11-03-2003, 10:02 PM
I guess it was just a way to show that he really was dead and he wasn't coming back. It was a powerful scene, especially for a children's movie, I loved it!

And mark your god damn spoilers, even though nobody cares about this movie anymore!!

I kind of am a fan of the originals (although I did have a thing for Beast Wars & Beast Machines), and well, those few and many of us who do or do not own a PS2 do have something to look forward to in the form of a game, and, if I'm not mistaken, it's based on the movie.

I'd heard the game was in the works, and well, I was right. I'd seen a trailer of a Transformers PS2 game in the works from Atari (if I'm not mistaken) at gametrailers.com, and that's what I mean by "something to look forward to."

And, hey, I'm not lying. ;)

Sherack Nhar

Yes, IGN ran a preview on this game a few days ago and basically said that the graphics sucked, the controls sucked, the interface sucked, the sound sucked, and the licensed ruled >_>

lukeiamyourdad

The only thing that I should keep my hopes up about is a remake of the old serie with the exact same story.

Ok it's impossible but still...

11-09-2003, 01:18 AM
Who says anything's impossible if you form and work together with a team who knows the true story in order to revitalize it? That's an idea and question all in one.

As for living without a heart, now THAT'S impossible. :p

lukeiamyourdad

It would basically more money then just reshow the old serie which should be done anyway.

Actually, he did come back in an episode. I remember. Hot Rod gave him back the matrix and every thing, but Optimus went insane with it, it was kinda erie. But Optimus gave it back and died again. Odd.

Yeah I know that episode. He was remade by the Quintesson who made him to lure the autobots to a huge bomb which would have destroyed them all. Hot Rod tried to stop him but Optimus regained his normal consciouness and gave back the matrix to him. He then drove the Autobot Cruiser into the bomb

I saw some of the new line of TF toys this weekend, and I was rather disappointed. It's called Transformers Universe and it has a bunch of beast-oriented toys like Optimus Primal. They don't look very good.

I also saw a bunch of Armada ones, and although I like the fact that they are back to vehicles, the colors are ugly! OMG are they ugly... It looks like cheap plastic for six year olds.

Sherack....they ARE cheap plastic for six-year-olds... :D

One of my greatest moments ever was when I was at my old job (Gamestop sales-monkey) & we had the original Transformers DVD playing in our Xbox. Had a kid walk up and ask "What's this?" I replied, "Transformers, the original, GOOD series." He got this look on his face of horror and sadness that his favorite series was just a poor remake. hehehe :D

Double post!:D

Why feel sad? Toys are for playing. Not keeping in a box so you can sell it when your 30. I always thought that was really dumb. When your a kid, you have your favorite toys so you can play w/ them. If I kept all my GIJoes in good condition, I could make a fortune now. But I don't care, 'cause it was worth the enjoyment of playing w/ them.

*runs to closet and starts pulling out GIJoes and sets up a HUGE battle*

I once read a study that said milk causes cancer. I knew a woman who stopped buying milk for her family because of it. She was a cancer survivor turned health nut. A little bit to nuts for me.

Anyway, you can viably say that ANY food causes cancer. The reason is that any nutrients your body obsorbs can be grabbed by the cancer and used to grow. Therefore, any food can help cause cancer. Kinda dumb I know, but people actually use this. If you take lab test where you give one group some healthy food (like milk) and you don't give the other group that food, anyone in the group w/ healthy food that has cancer will probably have a worse case of cancer becuase the cancer is getting better nutrients to grow. Talk about loopholes!

Due to this reason, I now declare that beets cause cancer so I never have to eat beets again!:D

Oh, yeah, transformers...awesome!
