You need 3D Studio Max :p

which means you also need to have several thousand dollars lying around. and have absolutely nothing better to do with it.

Or you can get the fully functional trial version...

which will only be fully functional for a certain period of time before you lose all the useful, important features. (unless of course you are proposing someone illegally crack the before mentioned trial version)

Only if you have absolutely nothing to do with your time, and don't care that you'll never be able to use it again.

Start with one

I have an idea, why not make the models with gmax, download an md3 exporter for gmax, and after you finished all the models, download the 3D Studio Max Trial, and finish the job.

hey, that's actually a pretty good idea. you can do the essential basic model work with gmax. then do your finishing work with 3dsmax.

however there's still the flaw that if 60 days down the road you decide you want to make some changes or some new models, you would have to move all your work to another hard drive, or burn it to cd/dvd, then format your hard drive to be able to install the trial version of 3dsmax again.(and i'm not sure that would work with the way discreet's security for their programs work, but it's the only way to remoive the existence of evidence that you have already used the trial before from your registry)
