News Story Found here (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/eo/20031125/en_celeb_eo/12990)

I used to watch SeaQuest DSV and he was my favorite. This sucks! He used to be one those teenage crushes that I had as a little girl.

He hung himself at age 27. RIP Jonathan.

What the?!?!

I can honestly say he was a good teenage actor, too. I wonder why he would do such a thing to friends and fans and family. He could have had a great acting career as an adult. =(

woah.........that's insane....he was a pretty good actor......it's sad when people commit suicide :(

I don't know why so many people find this surprising. I saw a programme on TV once about 'child' actors, and 'young' actors etc., who started to get into real problems as they matured - everything from drugs to suicide. No matter how good at acting these people might actually be...the life and trappings that go with the profession can actually snap some people. They simply cannot cope with everything it entails. When you listen to a lot of older actors, they often tell you stories about all the difficulties they had...how hard it was to get work sometimes, and how they could become chronically depressed if they received no work for months on end.

So I'm frankly not that surprised by this news, sad as it is. River Phoenix also died young.

One thing is for sure...the acting profession isn't all glitter and glamour.

Even with all that aside, we rarely find out the real reasons behind suicides. As I've said before...sometimes people just get chronically depressed, other times they suffer from mental illnesses that aren't always apparent until it's too late. Drugs can sometimes play a factor...and murder is an outside chance.

I'm sorry to see yet another promising talent has ended. May he rest in peace. :(

Man I don't care how bad life is, all you have to do is get up and brush yourself off and stay on the path given to you or start your own. That is never an acceptable way out of any situation...****, now I'm mad cause I thought he was good in all those movies when I was a kid

Well. He played in the Neverending Story. I don't much like that movie, but I don't harbour any malice towards him. :o
