So, only 17 days left now... cant wait! :D
warmed up yesterday with The Two Towers extended dvd, and it got up my hopes even more!
I just don't understand why they let out the scene with boromir and faramir in minas tirith from the original version... it kinda gave both the characters more personality, and explained why boromir was at the counsil in the first place...
wellwell, i have tickets to the premiere, and i'm lovin the wait :D
so how bout you other swampies? got any good hopes for the movie? are you going to see it (duh :p )? well, the countdown begins today! :D :D :D

Geezus!!! I can't bloody wait!!!! Seeing it when it gets released on Boxing Day, at the early morning session (like 9:00am) with all my family (cuzs, girlfriend, parents, uncles, auntys, etc). Morning session is sweet cos you can get a seat and then after the movie you've got a bloody huge line of people trying to get tickets that's so long it goes outside the megaplex!!

Though the yoda vote seemed tempting, I voted number two. I started out not liking Lotr, but now I love it!

I'm looking forward to it yes, but I hope Jackson doesn't manipulate too much from the book....

Thats my only fear. I mean, I even heard a rumor from a friend that Theoden survives the battle with the Witch King

I cannot varify that rumor, because frankly, I think my friend is full of crap, but it's like the way Jackson did Haldir at Helm's Deep. I mean, the elves weren't supposed to be there in the first place...

I hated that all that great stuff in the books had to be cut out and rearranged and messed with, but nevertheless, they're good movies. Of course I'll go see ROTK.

I don't think that Theoden survives. If you watch the latest trailer for the movie, you can see Eomer doing that cry/screaming thing while holding the body of someone on the Pelannor Fields. You can see the top of the head of the person he's holding, and it looks very much like the top of Bernard Shaw's (Theoden's) head.

And yes, I'll definitely be seeing RotK. :D

I'm gonna say no since I played the game and know how the movie is going to go.

..But a lot of people know how the movie is going to go from the books and the games don't even follow the plots well. :indif:

Knowing what's going to happen only sikes me more! :D

eldritch,

It could be Eowyn that he is holding, she does "black out" there for a while when she kills the Witch King

The movie is gonna own, but Aragorn looks goofy in that armor. Just doesn't match him.

I didn't really care much for the first,
though I did like the second one.

I'll most likely see this one - but probably not the first day. It seems like it will be a good a movie - and well I have to see what happens! I never read the books. I tried reading the hobbit but got bored. Maybe I'll read them...?

I'm really upset about the release date of this movie. I have a Chemistry final that day, and a programming final the next! so i wont get ot see it till the night of the 18th sad sad sad.:(

one credit card receipt for a tent, ideal for camping outside theaters..signed by Rocker D
one book...etc etc

Anyways, FOTR and TTT were ok, third one will be good as well but camping or waiting for release date i have only done one time and that was when JA was out :) Here where I live I know 2 places were they hold a "LOTR marathon", the first 2 movies and then the third one, a day prior to its release date. I'm sure i can get a ticket any time i want, even if it was a second before it started but i'm not sure whether to go or not...If i want to see those 2 again but I'm really considering it. A die hard fan wouldnt have to hesitate, so you can exclude me from those

i saw on a commentary that was on the TT extended version, and they were saying that they originally were plannning to have arwen participate in the battle of helms deep  , but they decided to have the dream sequence instead...
thank god!(and im not even religious) :D

Wow i wouldn't even do that for Star Wars. Mostly because I don't have to go early to see it I can get the tickets without waiting in line, small town.

Well, I´ll be going to our cinemacomplex and probably will be seeing the lotr marathon, which means fotr and ttt before midnight and rotk after. And i think rotk will rock us all. I mean, I´ve read the whole story and there is going to be some intense scenes, believe me ;)

Go Eowyn :D

If only she would marry Aragorn and not Faramir.

Quite angry about something I heard.

They cut 'The Scouring of the Shire' from the movie and aren't planning to add it to the DVD.

Ha! Yes, we should write a letter to Peter Jackson and educate him... what I read said that he didn't like that part of the book so he didn't even do any filming for it.

You must understand that PJ has his legitimate reasons. A Scouring of the Shire scene would not work very well in a the movie format, because it is sort of like another climax after the climax of Sauron being defeated, Aragorn becoming king, and everyone's adventures ended. The two climaxes would cancel each other out and would not make for a very understandable nor enjoyable movie. Read the Newsweek article on ROTK, it explains his reasons for cutting this scene and others.

And yes I can't wait for ROTK either. :joy:

I am seeying it on a plane when I go on holiday (hopefully they will show it).

Slightly Off-topic: A blooper in FOTR-
When Aragorn is running up to Boromir after defeating that Uruk-Hai, one of the "dead" Uruk-Hai noticably moves while another turns it head to look at him running past.
I only noticed this because this time I was looking at the corpses and not Aragorn. Don't get me wrong though, FOTR is one of my all-time favourite movies.

Got tickets for the morning session on the day it comes out! Man I'm looking forward to it so much that last night after I read some of the book, I dreamt I was a Gondor soldier fighting in Minas Tirith in ROTK, :p . Too much Lotr on my mind. Better go do some scripting and distract myself.
