I was just thinking about how we haven't had a riddle thread in some time, so here we are. Also, you can post poems(that you made yourself)

I had this one,

"I own no great hall
But I do have a bed;
I travel to and fro
But never leave home

I wisper and roar
Yet have no mouth
My bounty is endless
And so is my wrath

Silver streams through me
And azure above
I let you rest on my skin
But death lies within

Who am I?"

Aww, come on, its not that hard:)

No, its not wind nor a car.

BTW, I was thinking that the winner should post the next riddle, if that's ok.

it was the 'But I do have a bed' line that gave it away :)

ok, a quickie...

What is neither inside the house, outside the house, but no house is complete without it?

The problem with riddle threads, is that most people have already heard these riddles before ;)

I live above a star

My initials are PRS.

Hehe.. I have one.

you are a prisoner in a foreign land. your fate will be determined by a little game. there are two jars, one with 50 white marbles, and one with 50 black marbles. at this point, you are allowed to redistribute the marbles however you wish (e.g. swap a black marble with a white marble, etc.): the only requirement is that after you are done with the redistribution, every marble must be in one of the two jars. afterwards, both jars will be shaken up, and you will be blindfolded and presented with one of the jars at random. then you pick one marble out of the jar given to you. if the marble you pull out is white, you live; if black, you die. how should you redistribute the marbles to maximize the probability that you live; what is this maximum probability (roughly)?

I'll answer that: It's probable that there's a 1 out of 48 chance that you get the one with the white marble or the black marble when you're blindfolded. But if one white marble is taken away from 50 white marbles, you get 49. Add 1 black marble to the remaining 49, you get 48, thus subtracting the white marbles even farther, but you'll still be alive. If you choose the one with 49 black marbles and 1 white marble, again, it's 48, but you'd already be dead by then.

That's not a riddle, that's a probability problem

I'll post one.

You can see out, but you can't see in.
Many colors lie within.
Living being all hold 2 of me hostage.
(Hint, I'm not a peace of sausage)

I wanted it to rhyme, but its pretty obvious. ;)

I've got one:

I travel all day and sleep all night
I have pockets full of things that force me to move
Yet when I feel empty, I stop to so that these things can get me a tall drink. After that, I feel full and continue travelling to my destination.

I also have no eyes, but these things in my pockets can see through the front of me. My body has many different instruments, one shaped like a wheel, another shaped like someone's flexing their arm. I'm usually living in something called a stable. What other word means the same thing as stable? (Note: It isn't a horse's stable or a corale. The answer will help you to guess the question below. It should be pretty obvious.)

What am I?

Um, I'd like to buy a guess: Seaweed. It's at the bottom ocean and moves.
