I was wondering if anyone knew of any racing games for JA. If they do exist, might I suggest that someone get a team to create a mario kart style racing game...

A JKA racing mod has been released for multiplayer, grab it here (http://www.jk3files.com/file.info?ID=19465) . This mod is a lot of fun.

yes there are racing game for ja

what luke sirra jedi mention is 1 of them and also
there are others in www.pcgamemods.com where it the different racing maps u can download to use with that JKa racing mod that
LSJ mentioned but they seem to made some mistake though as the swoop bike included in is the normal swoopbike in the maps not the fast improved swoop bike in the mod

and there are also other *NEW* good mods though not just racing :) maybe u r interested :)

There are a TON of racing mods for JA already available from pcgamemods.com.

Unfortunately, 99.9% of them were created before the SDK, so they are pretty basic.

Ie: a circular "track" with respawning swoop bikes.

Most of the maps I've tried were pretty hap hazard... full of bugs like low FPS areas, Swoops that are too close together (meaning if one blows up, they all blow up, over and over again...) etc.

Now that the code is out, hopefully people will put a little more effort into polishing these mods before they release them.

They could actually be a lot of fun if done right... counting lap scoring, "starting boxes" (to prevent all Swoops from blowing up at the same time), modified swoops that are better suited to racing through canyons, better maps, etc.

Is JKR a mod, or just a FFA map with swoops on it??

None of the ones I've tried are actual mods.

Yes, they're pretty much just custom FFA maps with respawning vehicles (usually swoops).

With the SDK it's possible to transform these maps into a real mod, but that's up to the authors...

Same here Kurgan. Well now that the MP SDK has been released, the creators can start making a mod for it.
