I have completed the first public beta version of freezetag mod which will be included in version 2.2 of xMod. You may try it out at:

It is the the last map in the rotation on ctf3.

The general idea is the team that is "IT" needs to kick all the opposing team members to freeze them. This freeze ability lasts 60 seconds (cvar) and can only be removed by time or a teammate kicking you. By freezing the entire team at once your team scores a point.
The team that is "not IT" just has to run to the opposing team's base and touch the flag. This makes them protected from the freeze ability of their enemy, but they can still be killed normally. If they die they must run back to the flag to become protected again. They will score a point if they can get their entire team protected.

FYI in future versions (ie. tomarrow when I get around to it) I will be making it so people can not join teams until the break point inbetween rounds to prevent unfair advantages.

cant wait to try it! allthough i went on the server from that ip and on ctf3 it was just normal ctf :(

Sounds a bit like that game when if you get touched you have to get a teammate to go through your legs so you can move again :D (a real game, tunnel tig or summat :D)

i have a freeze mod for unrealtournament and when u get killed u r frozen and to be unfrozen a team member has to stand beside u for 3 seconds

Freezetag is the last map in the rotation on =X= Dedicated CTF. It goes through CTF maps 1-4 and then goes to freezetag. So technically ctf3 is in the rotation twice, if that answeres your question Sarah.

No, that would be pretty boring since you can't get anyone to unfreeze you. CTF works well. Maybe TDM too.

I'm curious. Does the players' current animation freeze in place or are they just unable to move at the end of the current one?

I posted an updated beta last night that adds a 5 second no tag back rule to players. This way people have a chance to escape once the freeze wears off. There was a large issue with people being camped ;)
