The original trilogy will be available this September on DVD.
Finally!
I hope it has the deleted scenes.

Read about it at DVDfile.com (http://www.dvdfile.com/software/dvd-video/archive/2004/02_10.html).

So what are the faithful to do if they don't want to watch the altered 1997 editions of the trilogy? Either give in, or don't buy. "We realize there's a lot of debate out there," says Ward. "But this is not a democracy. We love our fans, but this is about art and filmmaking. [George] has decided that the sole version he wants available is this one."

Greedo shoots first! What were they thinking?

And that is why they must be destroyed, Jared.

Everybody cares. Han is just not so scoundrely any more.

Who thinks that the Wampa scene in Empire is scarier than before?

I like most of the graphical enhancements (Cloud City!), but some of the changes are just wrong.

jabba in ANH and greedo shooting first both suck. but i like most of the other changes, like the wampa scene, bespin, mos eisley, the better explosions and moving heads inside ships.
i'm just glad they're finally releasing the OT on DVD

Han is meant to be a hero though. And he did have his gun ready to shoot first so he gets both personas in one.
I liked the jabba in Ep 4 except I dont believe hed let Han get away with stepping on his tail.
I hope they have the deleted scenes because theres one on Hoth where C3P0 leads some snowtroopers into some wampas .

Han is meant to be a dark hearted scoundrel who has a slow change of heart to help these people he grows to care for, if he's already a galant hero it ruins his transition.

i love everything in the special edition, but i heard a rumour that Lucas will be putting in scenes of Natalie Portman into RotJ as Leia's flashbacks.

Please tell me this is just a rumour... :(

I guess you're right there.
But there is the bit where he tells Greedo to go tell jabba something, so shooting him kind of makes that pointless. But you're right.

I seem to recall reading that he was originally planning on doing this, but more recently decided not to. I think it was on the Jedi Council question thing at one point.

I know I'm new, so some of you guys won't believe me, but anyway...

My dad works for 20th Century Fox, and as a big fan of Star Wars I asked him to find this out for me. He says that the versions, as far as he was able to find out, are the 1997 versions with some NEW scenes that Lucas added during Episodes I, II and maybe even III.

Sucks, huh :(

It depends on what the new scences are I guess.

But, wouldn't Lucas have put the deleted scenes in the 1997 version if he wanted them in?

I once heard a rumor he wanted to remake the entire original trilogy :o

That would really suck.

Maybe he remake the new ones not to suck.

My repetition was an expression of my longing for the deleted scenes.
Its a technique poets use. Yeah baby, I do English A level.

Uh-huh. And you repeating your palaver about deleted scenes right after it was said that the added stuff would be all new doesn't unshmoetify you, monkey.
