Does anyone know where I can locate a Mac OS X copy of SCUMM Explorer (or Xplorer, as I think it's called)? I've been hunting around for a while but all I seem to get is 404s.

The well known computers for graphics, unfortunately they so happen to lack in the software for scumm hacking! Although, they do have ScummVM which is cool, but is there a scumm xplorer for the mac, or am I getting my leg pulled when input my search query and get my results in yahoo or google, I am slao getting 404s as well! Please!! someone respond and have the answer to this (is there a scumm explorer for mac os X.) I also want to scream and shout about the sequel to Sam and Max which is cancelled. (i'm pissed!):jawa

I seem to recall there was a "Scumm Xplorer" project, but I can't imagine where it is, now. Wasn't Drigo Zoxx in charge of it?

I am. ;)

(Reads more like was, though.)

It was once hosted on the 'Mojo itself before the Big Bang of the server occurred. The latest (last?) version is still available from versiontracker.com, enjoy it. :D

Version Tracker has Scumm Xplorer listed on their site, but the link to download it is not good. Ever since the big hit that mixnmojo got there has been no way to get the scumm xplorer again!

Just a few words on Scumm Explorer,

There were two version, Scumm Explorer for MacOS Classic and Scumm Xplorer for MacOS X. Both releases got to version 0.4, which was, indeed, the last stable version. I still have lots of partial work implemented on my hd for version 0.5 but I'm not sure if that will ever reach another public release. I, personally, have 'quit' working on it. What do you know, this is the luck of each and every SCUMMRev-like program. Well, I respect Serge's work and mine too, but these're kind of curiosity programs, just to look for a few things inside the games, and that's all. People's not much interested into it, though. And such programs can't even help development of - say - ScummVM for the simple matter that they do not offer the ability to 'add new stuff descriptions, decoding algorithms, etc' to the program itself, in other words, they do not allow you to actually 'fully disassemble and decode SCUMM', which would rather be an useful thing for SCUMM hacking. I've been thinking about writing a program like that lately, to help SCUMM-hackers, but I fear I'm out of free time at all. I hope someone else here on this forum will get my idea for good.

Now, back to Scumm Xplorer, I still own it of course and I would be glad to upload it here on LucasHacks for peoples to download. :)

Drigo i can re-set up your hosted space if you'd like. Just drop me a lucasforums PM with the login info and stuff you'd like and I'll put it back up in an instant :)

Yes, please Drigo, whatever your name is. make it possible to download the scumm xplorer for mac. If you could place a link on the forum that would be great. Or if you have an aim screen name then that would be better to post for the fact that you could send the file that way. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme!!!

Thank you Jake, my man. :)

I'm gonna take you up on that sometime. I'll see what I can find from CDs of the old stuff, though.
