View Full Version : Where can I find the Full Throttle Mac demo then?

Judging by the way it's treated slightly differently and seperated from the PC demo, I assume it's drastically different in some way. Any more details if you could please? :)

Dunno, i've never seen it. If someone has it, let me know and i'll shove it on my webspace with the rest of em.

Okies. While we're on the subject of Mac, does anyone know if there exist any PC tools which can extract HQXes? I managed to find the Mac demo of The Dig but it appears to be in HQX format, and bafflingly, StuffIt doesn't seem to support it.

I can get the demo . . . but I'll have to dig out the CD.
I'll see what I can do.
Benny, do you want it re-"PC'd" for use with ScummVM? The FT PC Demo is really too buggy for ScummVM and there's no other way to run it on a PC.

If by re-pc'd you mean taken out of whatever nefarious stuffit archive its in and shoved in a zip and stripped of whatever data fork madness thing there is with it then yes please.

Thanks anyway ATM but Kirben is sending me the Mac FT demo and the Mac Dig Demo right now. I'll upload em when I have them :)

Oooooh, yayness. Thanks very much Kirben! :D Can't wait...
BTW, I wonder how many more Mac demos were made? I know there's Sam & Max, The Dig & FT, but what about Monkey Island, or Day of The Tentacle, FOTAQ, Simon or Indy et al? Were any of them different in terms of content to the PC demos or were they simply direct ports?

Ah, so those were the only other demos known to have been made??? Hmmm.
EDIT: Ooops, turns out those are download links! :p Man, couldn't a more stand-out colour have been selected for links? I had trouble understanding your initial Maniac Mansion Demo post first time! :D

Hmmmmm. It appears the Simon 1 Acorn demo isn't playable as such. It runs okay, the graphics look dandy, the music and voice are both going extremely well........ but where's the mouse control? D'oh! :p

Just wait a few minutes (Or enable fast mode with CTRL F) after introduction speech of simon1acorn demo, a bug in original demo causes a wait timeout at start.

What up guys! I noticed lately that ScummVM now supports original one-filed Mac data files as well. I can't really be bothered to bid for this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=187&item=8148925442&rd=1&ssPageName=WD2V) just to get my hands on the FT Demo Mac file so perhaps somebody could up it somewhere for moi (or even us all, if you desire)?
