use VDMSound and VDMSLaunchPad.

it's adds this wonderful option to your right-clickety-menu-thingy: Run with VDMS

err.. VDMS??

Virtual Dos Machine Sound (http://ntvdm.cjb.net/)

it works for every dos la game i have, so why not for ft..?

sweetness! thanks ray...

......have fun flibble!

The version Flibble is talking about has an updated executable to allow it to work in Windows XP, Guybrush. If VDMSound doesn't do the trick for you, you can always get him to send you the new executable - it works as long as you have your original Full Throttle CD in the drive.

#sigh# I'm stuck at Corley Motors. I don't want to use a guide because I heard the game is short.

I never have any problems like those.
Windows 95 baby!

Loading........................................... .................................................. .................................................. .....

Also, no chance of broadband but still, unlimited LucasFun!

I hate those !$^%&%^ pieces of \!^%^A&.

Maniac Mansion,
MM2 Day of The Tentacle,
Indiana Jones+ The Last Crusade,
Indiana Jones+The Fate of Atlantis,
Sam & Max,
The Dig,
Full Throttle...

zak mccracken

a must, especially if you've never been on mars.

also, there are still different versions, like for instant the amiga ones for mm, zak, loom, indy 3+4, mi 1+2. they have "only" 32 colors but the sound is muuuuch better.

03-17-2004, 01:51 PM
Is Mackraken still available anywhere? Only I've never seen it, ever.

Oh, and FT's good and luckily wasn't devalued by the cancelled FT2. No one give away the ending okay! Do not tell him about the ending with the bunnies!

03-18-2004, 02:18 AM
Can't you still get McKracken with the Classic Game Pack or some such nonsense?

03-18-2004, 02:37 AM
Probably only on E-Bay...

...LucasArts doesn't even affiliate themselves with their older adventure games (aside from Grim). You can't even buy 'em off their store, and they're limited on E-Bay...severly.

Why can't they just let the oldies go abandonware, like Revolution Studios did with Beneath a Steel Sky and that other odd-ball adventure game that was pretty good?

03-18-2004, 11:10 AM
I think you can still buy the monkey island madness pack from the lucasarts store. but yeah, I've now lost all respect for them. let's storm their head quarters, barricade the toilets and steal their left shoes!

Or something slightly less dramatic. Like a mean email. Or a battering ram!

I'm outside the vultures minefield with the bunnies, if thats what you mean...

I'm also stuck...

But I've been busy lately, What with all this fangame nonsense.

Have you sent your threatening email today?

"Less then 10,000 emails a day keeps Sam & Max 2 away...."

03-20-2004, 01:50 PM
That wasn't what I meant, but it could serve as a nice hint. Use the bunnies as your kamikaze army!

There is a thing called compability in XP... YOu simply make the game think you are playing on a win 95/98

to go activate compability:
go to the selected program, right click on the file you play it (usually gamename.exe) choose compailtiy up there, tick the box, choose run in windows 95/98...
this is good if you are playing old dos games wich your xp can't handle... how ironic.

04-11-2004, 03:49 AM
yeah, we're aware of the 'compatibility' setting. however it doesn't always do much good, as XP doesn't come with a MIDI port in it's sound card---nor do most sound cards these days.

'compatability' is for games that could only run on windows 95/98 that didn't require MIDI capability like Broken Sword et cetera.

Translation= XP should die in the hole it was made in.

Much like George in that respect.

Who says we flood Lucas with freeware plees?
