can u believe it? they changed the freakin release date. this really ticks me off. they said it was going to be released between april and may.

now its freakin 9/21/04  see here at gamestop. http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=645625
if they're going to do that, they should at least release a demo.
makes me just wanna go out and buy battlefield 1942 just to download the galactic conquest mod for it. aaaahhhhhhh soooo disapointed.

all new games nowadays get pushed back.

As long as I have know about the game, the release date has always been fall. That is straight from lucasarts.com. Its best never to believe game site or magazine release dates, as they are always speculation.

fall 2004 = anytime from august to december.( from a certian point of view.)

(that's if it doesn't get pushed back another 6 months.):)

Well, if they have a better game in stores then, I could live with a demo untill that point.

The demo could get out much before the game does, and have about 1 map.

Well this is old news. I reckon a game's release date should be when it's more or less ready. I think it is fair to say we can expect bugs, but people are going to complain anyway.

never, ever, ever listen to release dates from gamestop, bad idea. ONLY go by the offical LA website and what devs have told you. Gamestop guesses on release dates and games always seem to get "pushed back" because retailers think its comming out to soon

Dont be suprised if this game gets pushed back to 1st or 2nd qtr of 2005:confused:

Once the HDD comes out (next week, whoohoo!) I think it will change a lot of release dates, because tweaks and things can be downloaded after release.

Not exactly a good thing.

Do you actually want a buggy release and patch later mentality from the Devs and publishers??

(and having a HDD doesnt exactly mean timely releases....HL2, Doom 3 , just to name 2) ;)

Well, it's better than waiting an extra 6 months - 1 1/2 years for a release that still ends up getting patched...

Are you new to gaming? Since when is a game not pushed back half a donzen times before release? Like someone above said, I'll be happy if it hits the shelves by 2006!

BTW this forum is really archaic...I can't edit and the reply above was in response to the original thread starter.

VBulletin is the 2nd best bulletin board in the galaxy (no one can beat phpBB), i guess the problems you got are of human error (to quote a bit space oddyssey)

Try 'quote', normally everything works fine. If quote from the threadstarted doesnt work its because posts are normally a response to the topicstarter so no need to quote everything again

So far the release date hasn't changed. I believe it will be out in october or november.

I don't believe a release date until I've seen an official 'gone gold' announcement.

Ya gotta admit, though, LucasArts gets their games out ON time EVERY time...

Unless you count SWG, which came out about a year after it was originally meant to be released...

I still think de shouldn't rush it. I'd like this game nice and balanced (and I'm probably not the only one), and because there lots of maps with lots of vehicles and lots of characters that could take some time.

except for KOTOR, which was delayed for at least 8 months or more through like 3 announcements.

I used to use this kind of forum back in 2000 (when I frequented the Dropshipcommand.com forums for Mechwarrior 3) and figured technology had moved on to bigger and better things. :p

I dunno, I'm used to forumplanet which I find to be far more user friendly. On the other hand, it is run by evil Gamespy...
