Hilt show and tell

Ok, I though it might be a good idea to try making my own hilt. Turns out I'm not very good, but at least I got something :). I suggest this, we can all try to make one and post your results here. (ie. screen shots and the tga texture for download).

Thats a cool idea :) I'll try and make my own hilt when I get a little time. all I did for the hilts on my custom sabers is scavege from the game :D I am not an artist, but I think I could come up with something.

Here's one that was just begging to be done.

Darth Maul's DoubleSabre as good as it's gonna get on this model.

At least from me, anyway :p

Here's a new doublesabre hilt.

The center cloth piece gives the illusion of a green glow to compliment the blades.

The emitters were done to try and give the look of a torch; originally bronze in color but blackened and blued over time by heat.

And of course a single red actuator inset on the "high-tech looking black metal thingy" per end.

:)

Came off ok I think.

Is it me, or does that saber cast no shadow?

It's wierd, but I've noticed that on a couple of weapons ranging from blasters to sabres.

I'm at a loss to explain it.
