What program do you use for re-texturing?

Hey guys what's up? I wanted to ask what programs you guys use to re-texture your mods? I am attempting to use Paint Shop Pro 7 (I just got the program and I suck at using it). If there are any better one out there that don't cost an arm and a leg to get, (free is always nice:D ) can you let me know. Making item is pretty cool and I have you guys to thank for getting me started, and now I am attempting to recolor my new items to give them a more unique feel. Thanks for your help once again. Paint Shop Pro will do you just fine.

If you're running into problems there are tons of raster editing tutorials online.

It's pretty much where everyone starts up!

I use Photoshop, but it's an arm and a leg and certainly not free :(
