View Full Version : I called LucasArts...

So...A few minutes ago, I decided to call LucasArts. I asked for Mike Nelson, and was directed to his administrative assistant. She asked what I was calling for, and I told her exactly what. She then told me he was in a meeting*. She told me that they've heard the message and are aware that many people are upset. I asked her if she could, or would, go into a few more details. She said she could not. I said thank you, and hung up. Was Mike Nelson really in a meeting? Is LucasArts really aware of how upset we are? Does Mike Nelson's administrative assistant know more than she's telling us? Are the Dynamic Duo going to make it through this terrible catastrophe? Find out on the next episode of Sam & Max.

*Could it be a meeting concerning the Dynamic Duo??

P.S. This is my first post. Wow.

Nah, he wasn't in a meeting. I work in administration for a health organization, and that's exactly what secretaries are taught to do to everybody (excepting family and friends). But even if you said you wanted to talk to him for a different reason, you still wouldn't get to him. Don't worry, i strongly believe that Lucas Arts knows what it's doing and will release Sam and Max later this year.

Stop posting, your icon is nasty.

Actually and truthfully, I feel this post is a bit more productive than, oh let's say, the last fifty I've seen.

I agree with Gerbil, change your icon, please. Nobody even asked me to change my ugly Roger Ebert avatar and I did.

Actually this is very true, voice contact means more than the e-mails they been sending out to us, it would have been better to get actual info though. You should've asked waht a better time to call him back would be.

I like that his receptionist confirmed the knowledge of the outcry.

Here's hoping for consideration.

Well the icon is less disgusting this time and more easy on the eyes. I'm still disatisfied.

Well, when I'm paid to satisfy you, I'll ask your opinion on my avatar.

I'll consider paying you to ask him for his opinion, it should be widely entertaining.

The most recent one was a paid commission.

Nope. Vamps have yellow eyes. At least, they do when in vampface

(the pic isn't mine. It's just the best one that I could find for showing the eyes).

Uh.. it leads to an empty page, but from the link name I'm guessing it leads to a picture of Drusilla from Buffy, however Buffy vampire lore is made up and not neccessarily strict in following the common perceptions of vampires, so you may not want to use it to prove your point..... I've revealed my geekdom.

Actually a lot of vampire works have spread off from the original Dracula so to single out Buffy or Angel and to say they are wrong you would then have to single out every other work that is different then Dracula as it was the first literary work to introduce vampires. But then again why we are talking about vampires and not Sam and Max is beyond me.

I refuse to be called a fanboy, I just like pointing out facts about vampires.

Bram Stoker didn't "invent" vampires, so he can't exactly be considered the authority on them. Vampire stories have existed for billions, possibly even hundreds of years.

In short, Vampires can look like whatever you want them to look like. People can believe that they're fluffy and white with abnormally large ears, yellow eyes, trousers that are much too short and tacky plastic jackets if they like. Black shoes with white socks is one step too far, though.

I think an excellent way of getting Sam & Max 2 onto the production lines would be to harass Mike Nelson's assistant. If anything, it would teach her that lying is wrong.

They were supposed to have been boots. The artist messed that up.

The jacket is leather. It looks odd as a consequence of using watercolors.

What's the number?

LucasArts office is like that of WKRP in Cincinatti's, so yes.

This discussion got way off topic.

What number was called? I'm tempted to call them on Monday. More than once. And just for starters.

Don't hassle them into being pissed off, it won't solve anything.

Dr Edison 007

LucasArts number is [deleted]. Just ask for Michael A. Nelson's office, ask his secretary to speak to him, and when she claims he's a meeting start talking to her about her ethics or ask "How does it feel to lie all day?"

Skinkie

Let me say again, DO NOT PISS THEM OFF! It will accomplish nothing, well nothing positive. It might make them go "Boy am I glad we cancelled that game the fans are just a bunch of pissy whiners who need a good slap."

Dr Edison 007
03-28-2004, 10:18 AM
Okay, just say "Allow me to make an observation, cancelling Sam & Max: Freelance Police was not a good idea"

Call back every thirty minutes asking if he's done with the meeting until she runs out of excuses :)

Phoning LucasArts does nothing but piss them off. I think its cool that one or two people have called, but repeatedly phoning them up to tell them over and over again whats up with the fan community (AKA something they're already more than aware of at this point) will probably just have the opposite effect of the one you want.

If the game is ever un-cancelled, it will be because they realize there are more fans than they thought, not because they are threatened time and again on the phone until they change their mind out of fear or annoyance. I don't know why people don't get that.
