i noticed while digging around with kotor tool there are many items that were made but not used in the game, some of them you can buy from Halowan Emporium, but most were simply left out.

one for example is the Wookiee Rough-Cut Upari Amulet, a saber crystal that is completed and has stats but you never recieve. according to the item's description it was intended as a gift from the hurt wookiee on kashyyyk who gives you the mandalorian quest and when you complete that quest and go back to him he even says "here take this it is a symbol of my hunting clan" i checked my inventory and there was nothing new, and deffenetly no upari amulet, so something there is broken. there are other items that might have been meant for a shop or hidden somewhere else, but that wookiee one is a pretty big mistake on Bioware's part. for game of the year its pretty sloppy.

what im interested in doing is

a) find all the unused items, completed or otherwise

b) complete them if they have no or useless stats (one item called Teta's royal band's only property is the ability to null stealth, i assume at one point enemies like invisible mandalorians would stay invisible and attack you at random, this item would make them visible, but that entire aspect was left out.)

c) return them to their proper place in the game or a new place if is no proper place

if anyone who has done more digging than me knows of any other items or quest items left out of the game let me know.

Similarly, there are several pieces of deleted, or otherwise unused, dialog that I've found while using the tlk editor recently.

One entire scene, which must be on the cutting room floor at Bioware, is one in where you run into Balaya on Korriban but you have Juhani with you. They get into an argument about Dark and Light and saving yourself, blah blah blah. Then it appears that the opportunity exists to either turn her back to the light side or kill her.

I wonder if any of these scenes are simply turned off (for final production) or if they've been entirely removed from the game. I know in TOEE, a group of fans were able to turn back on some of the deleted-for-final-release scenes. It would be interesting to see if anyone with the skills to do it could turn them back on.

This sounds like a worthy persuit. I wonder how many unfinished files were packaged with the game. I was amazed at how much dialog bastilla had on korriban!

Ive heard that there is an alternate route into the bad guy base on taris (with some manly sounding woman). could this be reworked to be reinabled?

Is there a way we could hear the dialogues? Even better if you could somehow activate it in-game.

somethigs could be reativated like allowing Bastila to go on Korriban, Where she actually has alot of dialog interjections.

If the resources are there then it's just a matter of getting them to work. Teta's royal is actually Circlet of Saresh and Tulak Hord's Mask. All three use the same model. Now that I think about I remeber the guy that approaches you on manaan when you are investigating sunry's trial. he tells you to seach the sith base and republic base. Bioware has said that is left over dialog from an older incarnation of the quest. that could probly be added as well.

There are quite a few resources unused in the game. I guess microsoft gave them enough money to get it out faster and as a result is only 75% completed. I think there was supposed to be 2-3 more planets. there are even creatures not used by the game. In templates there is a utc called c_sebulba but there is nothing else for it.

k34_itm_terahide.uti (Terantanak Hide Item/prperty is force resistance(I think it is use to protect the Terantanak from you:) )

k34_itm_dropping (Shyrack Droppings.description: These animal droppings have a disgusting, phosphorous-like odor as well as a very acidic nature. While handling the substance is not pleasant, it may prove useful.)

In module manm26ab there a couple w_tape.uti (not used items) I have no idea what these are but there in a number of Manaan modules.

Item001.uti ( I have no idea what this is. unfifshed armor of sometype)
man28_firbite.uti ("Creature weapon"it has an instant death property)could be used by a fish?

ptar_daviksgem(just that but un used plot item)
tat17_bountywrit(seems to be the same as the hunter's licence. I guess it's another way of leave Anhorhead.)

As far as I know only one appearance of each item is in the game. Hell you could just rename them and say there new items :D LOL :D

So to end there are quite a few things that could be used to add content.

actually youll find in a number of RPG games unused dialogue , items scripts etc , sometimes quests just get dropped for different reasons - no point to the quest , just wasnt as interesting as first thought , already one very similar to it etc etc

there are a few quests in baldurs gate 2 by bioware that had items , NPC's and other things made but not completed

i wouldnt blame microsoft anyway , they didnt commision the game nor did they pay for it , LucasArts did

allt hese items are used in game .... if you upgrade the item using the item upgrades

each upgradeable armour has three types to cover the two different upgrades - undermesh thing and the other thingy

same for weapons , each has four upgrades to cover the laser splitter , scope etc

I was thinking that about the weapons and armor, but it isn't nessesary to have a version with each weapon upgrade, atleast I don't think it is. I have not really made any other weapons than Lightsabers.

I like blaming Microsoft their big and powerfull and from what I have read is that they pressed Bioware to get it out for X-box quiker.

not sure why they did it they way they did but Bioware definately made each item be an upgrade

ie :

g_a_class5007 - Eriadu Prototype Armor (Defense 6)

weirdly though Carths pistol is just one item and not multiple like the others are ~shrugs~ not sure why though , maybe they found a better way to do it int he end and just thought "stuff it we have done the others already" and kept them in so they didnt have to change all the code for them
