I don't have an X-Box, but I thought you'd all like to see this.

FYE -- the music/movie store -- has a list of special features. The link to pre-order Star Wars is here: http://www.fye.com/catalog/moviesProduct.jhtml?itemId=11061332
The actual list is here: http://www.fye.com/repositories/staticPages/popups/starwars/starwarsfeatures.htm

Nice.

i'm with you. does this mean it is non-interactive? I hope not.

on audio cd's with extras in windows media player the extra appears with a time. so i'm guessing the demo memory size is equal to about 15 min. worth of dvd material.

In my book, a demo should mean a playable portion of the game. Unfortunately some marketing machines persist in calling gameplay videos 'demos' just to confuse everyone.

Guess you'll have to wait and find out...

I just hope there's a PC demo released prior to the finished game shipping...

Thats just a trailer. Notice how the 'Behind the Scenes' part with images dosen't have a time next to it.

Episode III Behind the Scenes Preview
Section One - The Creator: Finally the birth of Vader. George talks about finally bringing Vader back to the series and teases about Anakin's descent to the Dark Side and the powers of seduction in play.
Section Two - The Costume: Black is back. For the last Star Wars movie ever and the birth of the ultimate villain, a new costume was forged. This segment answers some key questions: who created it? was it made for Hayden?
Section Three - The Actors: Finally I get to become Vader. Key interviews with the cast (including Hayden) and crew sharing their thoughts and experiences about working on the last Star Wars film and finally seeing the completion of the Saga. (10 min.)Yes, yes it does

i still think it is a xbox demo since it says xbox video game demo. if it just said demo then maybe not, but it specifically says what platform the demo is for even though the game is coming out on all ps2 and pc too. also i think 15 min. is too long for a trailer.

true. 15 mins is a long trailer... I think it means you can play for 15 minutes...

I don't think so. It sound weird. A 15 min demo? Either way it sounds weird.

Maybe, when they say that the demo is 15 minutes, they really mean that its actually a "making of" documentary showing you how the "Battlefront" game was made as well as giving you a non-playable sneak peek at some of the levels. It's been done before. The first tomb raider movie had a 10 or 15 minute demo on the DVD. But it was actually a documentary about the making of "The Tomb Raider Chronicles" video game. There was no playable demo.

But they said XBOX demo, not just demo

If it is a playeble demo I am a happy boy :joy:  :D because my little brother is getting an X-box for his birthday.

15 minutes of standard play DVD video takes up 0.5875 GB or 500-600 MB. If that time is just showing how much space it takes up if it were DVD video like eastcoast2895 said, then I'd say the size is about right for a demo...and a rather large demo at that...

A video would get out to more people then just an Xbox demo.

Most XBOX games are pretty big, several gigabytes, so a demo must be pretty big also

Gukkjo

I would think it is playable because it wouldn't say XBOX if it weren't. If it were some type of non-playable documentary I think they would say PC/PS2/XBOX demo so it would appeal to more people rather than just XBOX owners.

It'd be stupid to have a demo with a time limit. If they do that, then they are retarded. It being Xbox doesn't really mean it will be playable.

On my "zelda collectors item" disc there is a 10 min windwaker demo. It's a demo like any other, though a bit bigger and when you have played 10 mins it stops. I do think that this swbf demo is a movie

Putting a time limit on a demo is CRAZY!

Actualy here in the USA in certian states/citys demos in stores have time limits.

Gukkjo
04-11-2004, 05:35 PM
Well It could have a time limit seeing as how this game can have time limits. Maybe it's a battle with a 15 minute time limit. After 15 minutes, your battle ends. Easy enough.

i think it'd be endor. but that'd be cool if they gave an option or 2 forces and 2 planets. the more the better. plus, this is coming out in september, i wonder how long it will take for the game to follow.

well its easy to download a demo for the computer online so lucasarts probably figured to package a demo w/the trilogy for the console versions. maybe they figure the xbox is going to sell more copies since the PS2 is obsolete? that or microsoft payed them alot of money to put an xbox demo on their.

Wow, they said the exact same things that were said here, and added nothing new :p

Star Wars: Battlefront is slated to ship in September. Developed by Pandemic Studios, it will have a staggered release schedule. As a result, the PC version will come out September 4, followed two weeks later by the PlayStation 2 edition. The Xbox iteration will follow the PS2's release by one week. Check out GameSpot's preview for more on the game. YEY! :D

Gukkjo

Hooray for PC version coming out on Sept. 4! :p

But anyway, that explains why it's xbox only, because the xbox version is last to be released.

And for waiting 6 month we got a whole new area. You guys had to wait around 5 months after the release of the PC version before you could get it :D

It was all worth the 6 month wait.

Yeah but now it really does make sense about the demo for xbox only. I'm getting it for ps2 since I don't have a xbox and my computer isn't very well up to date. I can wait:D

Finally, according to starwars.com, the upcoming DVD will include a preview AND Xbox demo for Battlefront. It also states the game itself is coming out on the 21st of September, the same day as the DVD.

BTW, I'd rather wait for the PS2 version because my PC isn't current enough and because X-box Live SUUUUUUCKs.
