View Full Version : Games you'd like to see made

I'd like a brave heart game. I know there is one, but thats not that good, i mean like a third person game based on sword fighting, not as much strategy. Like, you are Wallace most of the game, sometimes u are others and all. It'd be like ROTOK or something.
Next is Boondock Saints. Thats a great movie, truly great. rent it. The gameply for that should be like Max payne.
After that is Troy. That was a fun movie that woulkd be like Dynasty Warriors in gameplay.
Last would be pirates of the caribean. I dont know exactly how that would work out, but it better not be an rpg.

List your own, now. any movie you saw that you'd like to be a game, shoot.

I've always wanted to see a decent third-person western-style game. I don't think that Red Dead Revolver is gonna cut it.

I'd like to see a good Snake Plissken game (Escape from New York, Escape from LA).

Ooh! They're making The Fast and The Furious, but I'd much rather see someone make Gone in 60 Seconds...

I'd like to see a good Jason Bourne game.

Somebody PLEASE make a decent Die Hard or Batman game!

Can you tell that I like franchises?

Somebody PLEASE make a decent Die Hard or Batman game!

There's a Die Hard arcade game and I remember that being pretty good.

For games I'd like to see, some new LucasArts adventures and maybe some Grand Theft Auto-like thing about Canada (I know it'll never happen.)

06-17-2004, 07:48 AM
You're right about Die Hard. It was called the Die Hard Trilogy Arcade. But it was only for SegaCD.

When I say "decent", I also want to say "accessible".

06-17-2004, 07:50 AM
The lovelife of a sparrow, will make a great game

Hullabaloo! *scrams*

06-17-2004, 08:32 AM
Ooh, good contributions, Lingo. I forgot about a good batman and die hard. For Die Hard, i'd like it to be third person, cause I love 'em. same for batman. Die hard was such a good movie, man. I imagine the game would be like if you ever played True Crimes streets of LA, when you go into that buildng, except the whole game would be that way. And Red Dead looks good, why do you not think it'll cut it? It looks like a western max payne.

06-17-2004, 08:51 AM
That's the whole thing -- westerns and Max Payne have nothing in common, lol.

Another idea I've always had is a racing game featuring vehicles from various movies and TV shows.
For example, Warner Brothers Racing would include:
General Lee (Dukes of Hazzard)
Batmobile (Batman)
Mystery Machine (Scooby-Doo movie)
Police Motorcycle (Lethal Weapon 2)
Cadillac CTS (Matrix Reloaded)
Dodge Ram Pickup (Twister)

and if you threw in Universal Studios, you could have stuff like:
Ford Explorer (Jurassic Park)
Mini Cooper (Bourne Identity)
Tank (Hulk)
and a few cars from the Fast and Furious movies.

You get the idea.

06-17-2004, 09:14 AM
yeah, good idea. But Max Payne was enjoyable in gameply. And red dead is supposedly like that, just with six shooters instead of 9mm. I still have to rent red dead, kill switch, and matrix

06-17-2004, 10:08 AM
@Van if your having universal in this racing game there gotta be room for the back to the future delorean :)

Also I played red dead revolver in a store the other day its pretty good

A big online space flying game (like freelancer). With masses of options for ships. You should be able to buy something that justworks, but players who know how thinks work (they actually know science fiction technology) should have an advantage.

The game should be huge, no AI, police exists out of players who'd like to be police, the same for criminals.

Lots of planets (I'd prefer you'd be able to actually walk on them, but I think that is to much to aks), ships, parts, etc. Some kind of rolelplaying space action game.

There was another Die Hard game made, I think it was called Nakatomi Plaza or some such, and it apparently re-created a whole building you could go through.

06-17-2004, 03:28 PM
yeah, but that was a fps.

Heh...I think you're talking at crossed purposes here. :p

Anyway, there are a number of things I think would make some good games...

Nemesis The Warlock

This was a story that originated in the 2000AD comics, and gradually grew into a series of 'graphical novels'. It told of the exploits of Nemesis The Warlock, an alien fighting for the rights of all other aliens against the Tyranny of Termight (Earth in the future), which under the dictatorial guidance of Torquemada is set on wiping out the alien menace - whether they're menacing or not. Their unforgettable motto to search out the 'deviants' in their midst? Be Good. Be Vigilant. Behave!

There is just so much scope to develop this into a third person game. I say third person, because how else could you see Nemesis himself under your control, destroying his foes with the Sword Sinister and his range of Warlock powers? If the level design took the alien home worlds as a basis, they would be excellent. Cut scenes could include the Blitzspear, Nemesis' ship, as he travels throughout the universe battling the terror of Termight.

Blade Runner

Yes...there is already an adventure game set in this universe, but I'm talking about an FPS (with perhaps some RPG lite elements like Deus Ex) where you have to track down the replicants and deal with them. It would be more about investigation and exploration rather than simply running and gunning everything in sight.

Where Eagles Dare

This would probably be better as a mod for one of the existing WWII games on the market. I think the film is great, and it would make a good context for a game story. The 'betrayers' should be randomly set at the start of each game, so you never know who to trust...

Captain Scarlet

Although there is a 'strategy' game already out there, I think they should have made it an FPS (or possibly TPS) where you play the role of Captain Scarlet yourself, and have to undertake a series of missions to thwart the nefarious plans of the Mysterons, and tackle your arch-nemesis Captain Black. You could even have some allies to help you out, like Captain Blue.

Dream Park

This book just has so much scope, because it's set in an RPG park, with different gaming zones etc. You could assume the role of Alex Griffin, Head of Dream Park Security, who is set the task of hunting down a murderer. You have to join an RPG expedition to discover the identity of the killer - while roleplaying. The game could encompass more than one gaming zone, whereas the book focused largely on one zone. This would make a great FPS/TPS Action/RPG, because you still have to bash some monster heads to stay in the game so that you can figure out who the murderer is. It's a game within a game, so to speak.

Barsoom (Mars)

The novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs are so full of action and excitement (and aliens) that they are ideal for a first person or third person game. Assume the role of John Carter, and fight for the incomparable Dejah Thoris! Battle the Green Men of Mars, the White Apes, battle it out in Martian Chess, foil the plans of the Black Men of Mars, and the Mastermind of Mars. The potential is phenomenal! I'd love to see a game like this! :D

The Day Of The Triffids

No...seriously. From a third person perspective, you have to survive in a world that has gone mad - and blind. You play the role of someone who can see. The Triffids are increasing in numbers, and your objective is to reach the Isle of Wight, where you have heard of a successful Triffid-free colony being set up. Along the way you must explore for food and other provisions (even check on some of the bodies lying in the streets - although this is risky as you could fall sick). You start off with just a knife, and gradually progress to a pistol, a shotgun, and an anti-Triffid gun. You also have to pick up items to make into personal armour as a defence against Triffid stings. Meanwhile, you also have to contend with armed gangs that want to protect their territories, and find other people who can see that need your protection. A sub-quest is that you are looking for a relative or partner, and clues to their whereabouts. As you progress, you are gradually joined by companions. Some can see, and some can't. You have to guide them, lead them, find safe-houses where they can rest while you forage for food etc. Locations could include both city and country settings - and the level design could be such that you have to find ways to avoid contact with Triffids, by going through sewers, ventilation systems, travelling across rooftops etc.

Icerigger Trilogy

You could assume the role of Ethan Frome Fortune, an interplanetary salesman who's mistakenly kidnapped with a wealthy old corporate tycoon, and stranded on the sub-arctic world of Tran-Ky-Ky. You have to find a way to survive both the elements, and the Tran, the native inhabitants. The objective is to reach the outpost of Brass Monkey (hehe), but the journey is fraught with danger. It could work as a first person or third person action/adventure, with intelligent bot companions in the form of Skua September, Milliken Williams and Colette du Kane. There's even scope for multiplayer games - Tran Tribe Assault, Capture The Metal (a version of CTF - metal is in short supply on the world so it's precious), etc.

Deathworld Trilogy

You play the role of Jason dinAlt from the books. You must go to Pyrrus to find out why the environment has turned against the humans. You have to train with the wrist-blaster (one of the cooler weapons in SF), and go on a series of missions fraught with peril to discover the truth. This could work quite well as a FPS or TPS game, with lots of alien creatures/plants to destroy. There's even scope for multiplayer team deathmatch, because the third book in the series focused around different Clans fighting each other.

The Warlock In Spite Of Himself

The book was simply great, and in the game you should assume the role of Rod Gallowglass from a first person or third person perspective. You start off with Fess (a robotic horse) as a companion, and pick up other intelligent bot companions along the way. You have some advanced technology at your disposal, but you have to be careful where and when you use it, or your reputation as a Warlock will grow, and you'll be shunned by more and more of the populace - and you could potentially be burned as a heretic.

Heretic III

Raven needs to round off the trilogy. :D

If I think of any more, I'll post them here.

Here's my idea

A game for LOTOR where you play as a soldier. I mean not a hero or some wizard just, a soldier, and orc. Let the cannon fodder have their moment in the spotlight!!!

06-20-2004, 04:36 PM
How about a matirx game off each movie? And I agree with fuzzyfreaker.

06-20-2004, 04:38 PM
that could be cool. but the last two would be more focused on kung fu. itd still be sweet, though.

06-21-2004, 05:36 AM
play matrix online then :P

06-21-2004, 09:35 AM
Matrix Online is Gonna suck sooo bad. Whats the Purpose? Everybody on the server is a Matrixy Guy! Wheeee! Let them Rule the world. Who needs real people when there will be 2,000,000 Matrix guys all over the place. Plant 2 agents and those 2,000,000 run over here YAYAYAYAYAY! Next one! Uh, yeah good idea, but no. It's not gonna work

06-21-2004, 03:38 PM
You mean 2,000,000 humans or agents?:D

06-22-2004, 01:47 PM

They have a game like your LOTR coming out fuzzy! It's called the third age!:D

06-28-2004, 11:48 PM
Dude, that's an RPG where you fight as magical heroes and even the orcs have special powers. I want a game where you play as the fodder, the lowest of the low, the little guys that get squished by the rocks. Those guys, but Third Age does look cool.

Evil Dark Jedi

EDIT: Aw crap, again another console only game...

While it looks so cool! Why can't they bring it out on pc? it would only get them more money...

07-05-2004, 04:20 PM
That's True Doomgiver! I always say the same thing about other games! I think Return Of The King is both MMORPG and RPG! And they're coming outwith The Battle for Middle-Earth for the PC! I just wish The Third Age wasn't turned-based fighting!:D

07-05-2004, 04:24 PM
I dont understand the diffs between the two, MMORPG and RPG.

07-05-2004, 04:27 PM
MMORPG Stands for "Multi-Massive-Online-Role-Playing-Game" RPG just stands for "Role-Playing-game":D
