I take you're not much of a gamer? I don't believe there are many, if not any games playable with linux. Tell me if i'm wrong k?

You do know that Microsoft has an OS that takes up at least half of the market share, if not three quarters of it. The reason why the Mac and Linux seem so secure is due to them being a small target for spyware, adware, and viruses. I'm sure if they were as big as Microsoft, then they'd be in trouble.

Besides, I've haven't had much trouble with my windows installation.

(Btw, what kind of Linux distribution do you have? I have a small zombie-hybrid Linux pc that runs Mandrake, going to tweak around with it soon)

Doomgiver: Linux has a program called WINE that runs windows based games.

Tyrion: I have Debian, KDE. When my bro lived here I used Debian, Gnome

(KDE and Gnome are graphical versions. Most look like Windows to help the newer users in using Linux or something like that)

So, how is it? I'm looking at Linux for an upgrade or something. It can play Windows games, eh? How do they work? Is the GUI simple? Do you get Rhett's cigar? Why I am I asking so many questions?

1. It's pretty good, you don't get .exe's so it will take a bit more time to learn how to install stuff(Command Console! Noo!)

2. It can, compatibility is alright but it can suck performance. Btw, OpenGL games can be played in Linux without emulation software, DirectX games have to be played with WINE)

3. Dunno, I have Windows on the main so I never checked.

4. If you install Mandrake, it's very simple GUI wise. Aside from installing programs, it's just like Windows. Better, in my opinion, because it innately has a multi-desktop changer and advanced tweaking options in legible form instead of in the registry.

5. Last time I tried, I heard a "I cannot do that, Dave" Even though my isn't Dave...

6. *loads shotgun* Would you like me to stop you from asking so many questions?

I use KDE too, they're both graphical versions which are unique in that products from both are interchangeble.

You can still be a gamer and have linux, dual boot.

And theres a good few good games for Linux, like UT2004, NWN, and CoD (I think)
and theres probably a bunch more.

I have CollegeLinux, and its very good. (But, it only has KDE 3.1, Newest is KDE 3.2, which is more shiny.)

Oh, I also use knoppix sometimes.

EDIT: Strange thing, I can't start up Collegelinux with X11 automatically starting for some reason. Anyone know why?

Linux will have revenge...

Isn't Brando the founder of Linux? No, he's the basketball player. No! He's got to be that GL's bro! No, wait...
