i wanted to know if you guys had any ideas for one

i would like to see a MOD with the original death star where you can fly fighters outside and dock at different platforms. But, instead of destroying the death star the rebels have to capture it. They can start in their own ship docked and they have to travel to the death star and enter it. I dunno maybe im crazy.

yes. even though LEC will make it mod-friendly, you won't know what to expect, where the limit isof them willing to make one

To make a death star would take a **** LOAD of textures and modelling in order to make a complete death star that you could fly your ship around. Coupled with turbolasers and other hazards i don't see how anyone could do it or would be up to the challenge of doing it. But there are a lot of guys who have a lot of time on their hands so we'll see.

I for one have ideas for levels i would like to see done, one takes place over an ocean setting and has a few islands and canals that would have to be taken over. Another one i saw in a rogue squadron level where you and your buddies have speeders and have to take out radars and an at-at production facility. But with the level i have in mind, you could either go by foot or air and there are advantages to either with some places only being accessible by foot or air, such as an underground spawn point that if you capture could spawn at-pt's (if they're available) or at-st's. I have others but i need to draw them out and what i would like to do. Stay tuned.

i think a cool mod would be a space one from Return of the Jedi... that would be really awesome with all the super star destroyers and all the mon calamari cruisers

Hmm... I can't really imagine downloading mods at all... Maps yes, but that's probably all.

I also think a bunch of Jedi fanboys are already preparing to add Jedi as a class...

ya the maps are gonna be cool but you know there will be mods coming out like in all other games... i jsut hope the mods are good and dont really destroy how good the first game was in the first place

A WWII FPS Game? Truelly unique! :)

I think that modding teams will find their own ideas of what they can do, they do not work with a wishlist. As I said, better to get then to ask. "its an ok mod, but you didnt do x,y, and z as i requested, you suck". You don't know what the limit is, you'll expect too much.

Do an underground battles mod. Use the gangsters like Jabba's group, smugglers and the Black Sun for factions. Maps would be small city maps, like Mos Eisley, Coresaunt underground and so on. Easily done with tons of fun.

Please stay with the StarWars universe. I dont want to see terrorist/counter-terrorist or WWII mods for this game. BF42 had too many modders doing the same dang thing over and over. Yeah a new mod comes out but who cares its the same crap.

Yeah, I'd like to play mods that include totally new classes and maps with new guns and models. Like Mandalorians vs Republic soldiers or something not from the movies.

Mods do not change the game to the point where you can't play the regular game. There's usually an option in the game to activate the mod so that it doesn't become the default mode, therefore you can play the regular game or modded game at will. Plus i think the addition of maps and vehicles can only enhance the game if done right and can help the longevity of it and sustain people's appetites until a sequel or expansion comes out. The question is, what will they do for a sequel to this game? There's only so many "official" battles that the movies portrayed and they are all in here.

What are they gonna do for Star Wars Battlefront 2: Electric Boogaloo.

:fett: I agree there should be no playable jedi classes in this game. Almost every single Star Wars game out there your some jedi ,and all I have ever wanted to be in Star Wars games is a stormtrooper. Thats why I'm excited about STB coming out. If anyone ones to be a jedi they should play Jedi Academy Multiplayer on Siege mode. It won't be as fun as Battlefront ,but you'll get your little lightsaber if you play as a jedi class.:fett:

agreed. Maybe a competitive mod if the game gets competitive (like pam for cod, with rules and ready up etc), but otherwise i don't want so see any mod other than total conversions and few GOOD maps

I would prefer maps over mods. Change the terrain but don't mess the whole gameplay.

For those who have played the original Jedi Knight, there could be a map where the rebels have to capture the Imperial fortress at Barons Hed, a city on the Sullustian moon of Sulon, after Jerec and his dark jedi were defeated. Troops would have to fight in the city streets. Imperials would defend every inch of ground while the rebels have to break through barriers, the fortress walls, and the command tower.

For Jedi Knight, there were awesome maps. Like caesars palace, ( a casino) Drazen Isle (the best rpg level ever) I never played JO online, or JA, but some people are giften as mess with making levels.

Hmm, that's a pretty good idea. I might do something simliar to that.

i prefer more SW maps, of planets don't exists in-game.

I think JDKnite188 idea would be great, one side defending something. While the other side attacks. The breach type maps in SOCOM II are definetly my favorite along with the escort maps, escort would be great fun too!!

I have been thinking about it throughout the day. The city of Barons Hed is a big circle with an Imperial fortress in the middle. The city is comprised of many small buildings of a maximum height of 4 stories with narrow streets connecting them. There are numerous courtyards and markets; also, there is a river that runs through the city.

The situation could start with rebels hidden in the city buildings as underground forces with secret command points. Imperials would be stationed in military posts on the city exterior. Rebels would have to take over the posts; Imperials would have to destroy all rebel secret command points. If the Imperials succeed with their first objective, the game ends because the insurrection is crushed. If the Rebels succeed in their first objective, the Imperials retreat to the interior of the fortress.

From the original JK level, I remember the fortress having to large door entrances and one rough entrance through some city ruins adjacent to a wall. The rebels would have to either blast through the large doors using heavy explosives or sneak into the ruins.

I guess the level would end once Rebels shut down the anti-aircraft guns and communication systems of the base.

This would be a great map.

That would be a great map. At the large doors there could be turrets or vehicles. And maybe lesser types at the back entrance. It reminds me a lot of a map from Enemy Territory, and SOCOM II. It would be great if there could be something made like that!!

Im working on four maps right now.

The one that is going to come out the soonest is [SBF] Hoth: Echo Base. This is taken and edited from the original Hoth: Echo Base level. I have basically expanded the map enlarging the Echo Base Bunkers, adding X-wings, Y-wings, Tiefighters, Tiebombers, and Tie Intercepters for a better air battle. I've also added more snowspeeders, atats and atsts. Rebels also now have a few combat speeders to defend themselves with. (In version 1.5 these speeders will have new snow texture skins). Also a ton more CPs.

The next one thats gonna come out is [SBF] Tatooine: Mos Espa. I'm gonna make this one out of scratch. Its going to have textures and buildings, etc. from Mos Eisley and Dune Sea but there's also Buildings from Bespin: Cloud City as well as the entire Jabba's Palace level right under you (complete with its CPs).

The third is called [SBF] Korriban: Planet of Lost Souls. This is going to slighly Rhen Var like, misty and very eerie. No new playable AI yet, (as I'm not very good with XSI), but I might borrow some from Majin Revan's source packs. This one is going to be trouble some and I might not release it.

The last map is called [SBF] Mustafar: Mining Facility. Since Lord Bandu decided not to make his Mustafar map, I'm use his ODF's and MSH's from one of his packs. This also might not work out as I probably won't finish it until Starwars Battlefront 2 comes out.

These four are the first maps I've ever created using BF Builder and Zeroedit so they're going to be a little sloppy compared to the stuff ive done for Deltaforce Black Hawk Down, but I expect the first two to turn out well. You can expect my Hoth Map in the next few weeks and you'll find it on Lucasfiles.
