If you go to LucasArts official site in this press release (http://www.lucasarts.com/press/releases/91.html) is said they're developing a new game based on Episode III. Even if it has nothing to do with Kyle Katarn it seems to me that's quite similar to a "Jedi Knight" game: third person (damn, no first person  ), action/adventure, saber fighting, force powers... what do you think?

No, it's just one of the many movie games. Spiderman 2 came, a game was made, same for The Hulk, etc.

Who knows, it might be pretty good?

A jediknight game would be one with other weps and mapsetc, this one will closely follow the ep3 storyline (Spoilerific! :| ) like phantom menace (dont quote me on this to rant how much you hated that game which i didn't)

Now if the MP would be saber only maybe then the 1-year old jedi academy could be saved...

Is it fighting together or you pick on of the two? Or you pick one depending on side and the other is friendly NPC...Much cooler than just "choose your force side". It seems theyll have to rush a bit if they want video content on the DVD.

It sounds good :) Dang really looking forward to LEC's releases next schoolyear

Well, at first Obi Wan (for xBox) was supposed to be a "Jedi Knight" game for PC. If this one is similar, even if it is based on a movie, I think it will be nice.

I think it will include other weapons since in the movie...
Obi-Wan is supposed to beat General Grevious with a blaster!

Just a thought: we don't know if this game is supposed to come for PC and/or consoles yet!

I hope the next JK game isnt based on episode 3. Without kyle, its just not Jedi Knight. Each game progresses in order of time. The next game should have kyle in it, and be AFTER the events of Jedi Academy. Its fine it they want to make an episode 3 game, but DONT put the Jedi Knight name on it.

I'm guessing that will be a primarilly console only game and then a lazy joystick only 1024x768 res only kind of thing. But seriously wants wants to play as that whiner Anikin?

Anakin seemed like a whiner to me only with the JA skin. "It's all Obi-Wan's fault!"

GL said all eu stuff was parallel to his own universe, so technically all the jk series don't exist in sw.

In that case the events of the entire Dark Forces series don't exist, Kyle Katarn, Jan Ors, General Mohc, the Seven Dark Jedi, Desann and his Reborn Goons, and Dark Troopers - none of them exist.

Well, it'd be pretty darn hard to come up with an "official" history for the events of JA due to the multiple versions of Jaden and his/her different Force alignment at the end of the game. It's simply too open-ended to try to fit it in the history of the Star Wars universe.

Still, that doesn't mean you have to reject it on that basis. I've never really taken the "official" sources seriously anyway since they embraced the NJO bull****. Just enjoy the games for what they have to offer. IMO, open-ended games tend to be more interesting than linear ones anyway. (though there are exceptions;) )

Well Kyle was the one who got the original Death Star plans between ep3+4 IIRC, so wouldn't he have to exist or something? o.O

I just said that because I don't like ace_ventura's constant preaching about how JA doesn't exist.

Oh lol that's understandable. But ya lol, Star Wars doesn't really exist. :)

Please stay on target... ehm... topic.

I was just saying that maybe it's a game like Jedi Knight, not that it is Jedi Knight 3/4. Obviously a sequel to Jedi Knight should have Kyle or Jaden as main charachters or at least as NPCs.

Who said it is only for XBOX/PS2? Any official source?
