I dont see any difference between wasting time making a pointless movie that people will watch, or making a pointless model/mod that people will use in games :dozey:

people that submit these videos generally get a little bit of money, besides most take a lot of pride in knowing that they can do it. Also many graphical arts schools have you do things like this for a test or exam.
