What do you people think of Robert Plant's solo career? (After Led Zeppelin broke up because of the death of John Bonham :()

Anyways, I think its some good stuff. You can tell that there is so much 80's-ness in it, but its good stuff. Better than alot of music that is out nowadays.

His solo career isnt anywhere near as good as when he was with Led Zeppelin. (Led Zeppelin is THE band. My favorite band of all time. Only like 2 of their songs I dont like) But, still, its pretty good.

It makes me think of what Led Zeppelin probably would be if Led Zeppelin was still together in the 80's (minus the solos and such).

My favorite song from his solo career is "Big Log". Quite a mellow song, relaxing, and all the such. Overall great song.

And what do you think is his best song?

(BTW: Here is a site that you can look at some of his music videos, and hear clips of music and such (http://www.robertplanthomepage.com/pages/main2.htm) )

The only stuff I heard was that No Quarter thing w Jimmy Page....

Robert Plant is a great bluesy type of rock singer, the only thing I was a bit concerned about was how tight the pants he used to wear were, Im surprised he had kiddes :D

The No Quarter thing is also known as Unledded. Im sure it was an MTV thing. I think theyre planning on releasing a DVD of it this fall. Im definately gonna buy it.

And yeah, his pants were tight, back in the Zeppelin days.

We are playing a few of our songs for the talent show, along with Stairway to Heaven. For STH, I wanna dress as Jimmy Page.

Meh.

He was a great rock singer, but his solo carreer was pretty bad in the 80's and early 90's. His last album, Dreamland, was pretty good. I think it was smart of him to do covers instead of trying to write new material.

His voice is very unique, but I don't really like listening to it without a huge wave of sound backing it up.

I was a huge LZ fan in the early 90's. I "re-discovered" them around that time. I listened to them as a kid in the 70's, but never really listened to them.

I always like the song "What is and what should never be" on LZ II. Four minutes and 45 seconds of wonderful guitar, panning back and forth in the stero channals, and lyrics that make you visualize.

Plant and Page were also big Lord of the Rings fans with references to LOT in songs like "Kashmir," "Battle of Evermore," and "No Quarter."

And it was in "Ramble On" that Plant wrote T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor
I met a girl so fair,
But Gollum, and the evil one crept up
And slipped away with her..

Jimmy Page was a heroin addict for 9 years.
