I want to know if there is a way to join pure servers without having to create a new Base folder empty of all the custom files.
Please help me cuz this is pissing me off.

You can't join a pure server if you are using a .pk3 file that the server doesn't have. That's the problem with pure servers, they prevent players from using downloaded skins, player models, hilts, etc.

I've never had an issue with joining pure servers, even with my /base folder full of mods. The only thing that I can think of that you might have a problem with is if the server is using a mod that you don't have.

Well I'm sure everybody here must know the servers, Im trying to get in the Jedi Academy servers.
A friend of mine can enter with his custom .pk3's but I cant.
So if anyone knows how to give me a hand on this I would be very glad.

Try removing any 'code' mods you may have in your /base folder. Visual mods like weapon skins etc. should have no effect. Anything that changes gameplay should be removed.

As I said, you can't be using a .pk3 file that the server doesn't have. For instance, you can have a downloaded skin in your base folder, as long as you aren't "wearing" it. But if you are using a skin that a pure server doesn't have, it won't let you join.

ive noticed in JA sometimes your game will get a bit funny if you do one of two things. usually its this first thing where you start the game up joining an unpure server and then without quitting and restarting or doing a vid_restart you join a pure server. for some reason i still refrence some pk3's like weapon mods, but only certian files like fx files but not models. going from pure to unpure usually doesnt result in as many oddities. if this is why you have a prue server question, try restarting JA between servers.

I tryied to change my skin to a different one, but It didnt worked.
Do I should start the game without JA+ too?

You shouldn't have any mods loaded when you try to join a server; JA+ is a code mod so you need to leave it off when playing on a pure server.

I just tested to enter without JA+ and with Luke Skywalker skin and a normal saber and hilt.
I got the unpure client error.
It says it detected unknow pk3's or something like this...

Well, whenever I get that particular message, I exit JA and go back in, and the server lets me join. But I'm not sure that will work for you...Best thing to do is what they said, erase code mods in your base folder. If that still doesnt work, erase EVERYTHING in your base folder. And if THAT doesnt work, and you absolutely MUST join the server, reinstall .

Maybe the server just doesnt like you. Only thing I can think of is emptying your base folder, but you already tried that. If nothing works, find a different server.

The confusion comes about because many people (not knowing any better) dump EVERYTHING (including code modes) into their /base folder and then complain when they can't get into pure servers.

Assuming you didn't "load" any mods (from the mods menu) or run any batch files to load a mod (or command lines if that applies to you), and you don't have any code mods, then you should still be able to join, though you probably won't be able to "use" whatever mods you do have in there, for obvious reasons.

In a non-pure, you can use those skins and such, but nobody will see them but you.

Well unless I'm missing something all I have in my base folder is skins, maps, ships and 2 cfg's
Thats all.
I dont know if this can be causing it but I'll ask anyway, everytime I use my JA without the JA+ I use it in 1024x768.
When I close it and open it again it says I'm on 1024x768 but it is not, I'm in 800x600.
I think my JA is not being able to save my settings.
And I forgot to mention, I can join the server if I clean my Base folder and keep only the assets.pk3 files and some other files.

Well, when all else fails, remove the mods and join again.

Do you have an autoexec.cfg file by any chance? Because this will override any cfg files you use. Or if you somehow set your default cfg files to readonly, this might be causing problems.

If you run any mod in a folder, then it will create its OWN cfg files in that folder. This is seperate from the cfg files found in your /base folder.

Thus it may seem like your settings are being reset or changed if you switch from mods and /base and back.

A long time ago I had this problem, I didn't know what was going on until I realized that each mod uses its own cfg file unless you dump them all into base (which you really shouldn't do).
