View Full Version : High Detail Mod/Addon

Hey, does anyone know if someone else is planning on doing a High detail mod/Add-on? Me and my buddy from the old Galactic Conquest team (www.galactic-conquest.net BF1942MOD) are planning on possibly porting over content from GC (And maybe touching up/making new content ie: Models/Textures). But that all depends on what tools/utilities are released of course. (And what the engine can handle..) :c3po:

I ask this because, it would be a terrible waste of time for two, three teams to be doing the same thing, if they could be working together and get things done faster.

Here’s one example of my previous work for GC a 74-Z Speeder Bike:
(Id re-do the handlebars of course, it looks alot higher poly then it really is, its only about 1384)

Hopefully its possible to make it so it is compatable and will play with the regular version of Battlefront, so no need for more servers since its just visual candy.

Thanks :atat:

no way, i was hoping you guys would port some goodness here.

AFAIK, no one else on these fora is planning this

I think though you would need a client and server side package (mod) because you can't just replace models. Otherwise i would be able to make all the textures white, and be able to see anyone with pure ease. Besides if they are going to include cheat protection...

I too was hoping to see someone from GC show up here. So much work has been done for GC on BF1942 it only seems logical to swap up to SWBF. Detailed models maybe shouldn't be the main focus of the mod "eye candy" can't be the main lure. I bet just providing more of everything (vehicles, skins, planets, maps, effects) would be a great draw. That would both make me want to play and to help out.

HaVoK-G2: If you would like, jump over to Here (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=135348) and check out our plan for SWBF.
I believe you may be interested in the mod, it's going to require a high lever of detail and the models will be very unique, it doesn't hurt to just have a look at what we have in mind, if you don't think you'd enjoy it, no harm done...

Ah, Thanks.. and as for full mods, ill see after release how capable the engine is and what tools are planned.

And as for it being "eye-candy" Its nice for a first little mini visual mod to get familiar with the tools etc. I cant really say exactly whats going to happen! Cant wait untill it comes out.
