View Full Version : Things you wish you could change in KotOR

Well, do any of you (besides me) have anything you'd like to change in KotOR?

The main thing I would change is to make Coruscant. Who ever heard of a Jedi not going to Coruscant (I think its gonna be in TSL though :emodanc:.). A cool feature they could've had was to go to Coruscant and recieve additional training, like after one traning session, you get a +2 to an attribute, or improved skills or something. Also, you could see bastila's mother (if you ended on peaceful terms that is) and HK-47 used to be an assassin for a politican on Coruscant, and he mentioned the glittering lights and how he would love to return.

Actually Bioware had planned a lot of things that never made it into KOTOR, like the planet Slehyeron, we could have had some Bochaba the Hutt Soup, :D and that would have been what I would have liked to change.

I also would love to whack that rude Gamorrean Swoop Racer. :lightning

oooh, so you enjoy HK's past as well :D

Another thing I could've changed was a little more depth to the Genoharadan that just hunt, kill, collect bounty, be betrayed by hulas. That would be a hard one though.

Positive change: More planets.
Even more positive change: Mute Selkath.

I agree! And kill that irritating security camera speech outside the Ebon Hawk! :D

That would improve the game LOADS.

Hmm...mute Selkath...

Now I REALLY gotta get into modding...or just turn off sound :D

Another change: datapads (I read the reboot topic, sounds like obsidian is kickin ass)
Yet another change - a revamped selling system
and anotehr change - better inventory system.

To my knowledge Obsidian is doing all of these things! :emodanc:

& fix that turning you around the way you just came, so you screw up & push forward & have to hear the whole damn speech over again ****

Ahhhh.......... The thugish, give me your credits or I'll kill you, being a foolish rude *******, representation of the Dark Side. Something a bit more sinister. Maybe.......

Yeah, the planets/stories that got cut.

Actually building or getting to see your saber built. More than the wave your hands & poof a saber

Ranged weapons that are actually worth using. & no more of the party members using said weapons running up point blank then firing, while getting hacked to bits.

The JO/JA pajama models that are used for the sith could go too.

Party/enemy AI, that actually has some intelligence.

Hmmmm......

Hmm, making ranged weapons more effective would be nice too...

Didn't like it when my Rogue had to start getting down and dirty in melee to stay competative...

Yup... that's what I meant... there are times in the game where you have to say to yourself... WTH was Bioware smoking??? :eyeraise:

I almost forgot about some of these, I also think that these issues definately need to be worked on, thankfully Obsidian is fixing some of them for TSL, thanks for reminding me FiEND! :D

Huh :eyeraise:... there are no prestiege classes in KOTOR???

This thread is about 'things we would like to change in KOTOR' and not KOTOR:TSL.

But the unique fighting animations for each of the three Jedi Classes in KOTOR would have been cool. :D

*gasps for air after laughing for five minutes*
*pant* Really good one *pant* that is a nice idea for a mod.

Don't know and don't wanna know....;)
Though they did really cut back too many things for their own good.
*gets up, grabs lightsaber and destroys Bioware*

1. ability to skip all cutscenes and dialogue,

2. ability to take stuff off a party member when you have to have a new one. examples: when canderous joins you, you have to kick one party member off your group, and you don't get to remove their stuff.
When you reach Dantooine, you can't have Bastila for a while, so anything you gave her is not useable

You could always remove the items from that character you have to kick off before talking to Canderous in the first place. :D

True, but you can take what you want off of her before you go into Davik's Estate with Canderous, then when you get to Dantooine the equipment she had on her will be in your invantory.
And if you take her along into Davik's Estate you can always strip her equipment off before you board the Ebon Hawk the first time and flee Taris. :D

I hope this helps! :D

Redhawke, I know I can just take their stuff off before that point, but I have to load a game if I forget to do it. In both those instances, there is stuff that happens that you can't just skip, so you have to go through the stupid thing again. My saved games usually aren't too far back, but the re-do is annoying.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier - balanced pazaak. The opponent should go first sometimes, or should have to stand at a certain number.

i agree with narfblat because it could be your first time playing and you give bastilla your best blaster.

they should show a small cut scene of here giving you youre items back and saying good luck or something.

He means his PC can't handle KotOR very well. When I bought KotOR, my graphics card couldn't handle the undercity very well(Nvidia Geforce4 MX420 for the AGP slot). There were occasional lockups, and often there were black lines that moved with the character. A few months later, my brother got a discount on an ATI Radeon 9800 pro, so KotOR runs very well at high resolution.

what is the system reqirements to run kotor as i have the xbox version and think i may get it for pc to mod things

and does anyone know the specs for the new kotor tsl

i have an: AMD Athlon 2000 at 1.66 Ghz

224 mb of ram, i think part of it is damaged so i am buying another 512 mb ram chip.

not sure bout my graphics or sound they r both intergrated.

narfblat
10-09-2004, 01:07 PM
If your graphics card is good, you will probably be fine. My comp has an AMD processor with 1.833 Gig speed and 512 mb ram.

i agree with narfblat because it could be your first time playing and you give bastilla your best blaster. I don't have her use a blaster. There is a much better weapon for a Jedi to use. After the fight to free Bastila, grab Brejic's remains. Do this before talking to bastila. The remains include a double-bladed lightsaber.

1. A lot more dialogue (with your party members at least...)

2. A lot more alien voices (it annoying when they repeat the
same again and again and again and......... again and...)

3. No more Juhani or any other bad looking and Annoying
complainers...

4. More duelling arenas... (I want to be duelling champion
in every part of the galaxy...)

Rogue15

no cool-looking planets getting destroyed or blown to hell!!! (unless you choose to destroy it...imagine the dark side points you'd get!)

Taris rocked.

more bounty hunting missions!!

NPCs (non part members) that talk to eachother, what confused me in KotOR it was always so quiet when walking through anchorhead, taris, and manaan. It's so annoying having to walk up to a random npc and then have them say the same exact thing some other npc said.

being able to wager more in pazaak.

better swoop races, and more upgrades for the swoop

ability to mind-trick a shop owner to paying you unreasonable amounts of money for crap items. XD

i quite liked the selkath voices but things i would like to change include:

a bit more choice in the story(i know you coul choose you own path and do what u want but lets face it, we all ended up in the same place at the end) like there was about 3 different locations you could end up at in the end, like dantooine and perhaps you meet malak there. it is obvious it wasn't destroyed as it is in the sith lords and the movies and it also made that perfectly clear so why cant we go back to it.
