There was mention on Korriban in KOTOR of an ancient people called the sith ari. My theory is that these people have returned they are the Dark presence that destroyed the Sith Academy and they are the "evil dewers" as mention by president Bush.

In all seriousness I believe they could be a part of the Sith rise after the defeat of Malak. This could be a possible clue to the origins of these new Sith Lords.

the Sith'ari are not a race it is a prophecy it goes like this

The Sith'ari was a perfect being who would rise to power and bring balance to the Force. According to prophecy, the Sith'ari would rise up and destroy the Sith, but in the process would return to lead the Sith and make them stronger than ever before, a striking parallel to the Chosen One of Jedi legend.

This very strongly hint's Vader as he was trained by the Jedi to in the future destroy the sith and fulfil the prophecy but fell to the Dark side and destroyed the Jedi making the sith stronger but by ROTJ he destroys the Sith by killing Palpatine/Sidious effectively fulfilling both prophecies

The sith of KOTOR era BADLY misinterpreted this as they though he would be their saviour (from a certain point of view) but instead was their destroyer.

Sorry for the lack of knowledge. Well what I was trying to get at is that there are probably a lot of clues in the original KOTOR for the Plot of the Sith Lords. Possibly certain instances that most of us wouldn't think twice about.

sith.

joking aside, the sith as a species no longer exist but rather it is now a religion which is practiced by dark force users, whom do not necessarilly have to be lords but just dark jedi as KOTOR pointed out.
