My Broncos looked like crap today, sort of like they did against the Bengals last week.

The game got exciting at the end when they scored a touchdown and then picked up an onside kick and it was a two score game with a minute left, but then a bad no-call on pass interference in the endzone totally ended it for them..

They looked SO bad.

Everyone does.......it's a Sunday game for some really odd reason x_x

Could they possibly pick any more horrible teams than the Bears and 48ers to play on a National television stage? I think not.

How 'bout New Englands 21 (I think) game winning streak being broken by Pittsburgh? The game wasn't televised in my area so I didn't get to see any but I would've liked to :)

I really think the Broncos may have had a good chance of winning today if they'd gotten that pass interference call on Lelie in the endzone. That puts them 1st and goal on the 1 (or goal line, I forget) and a quick touchdown makes it a 6 point game with 50 seconds left. Now Denver would have of course needed to get the onside kick, but man would it have been exciting.

Oh well, maybe next week :\

Yeah it was a shame. I was really hoping for it, but the damn refs killed Denvers chances...blah.

There's till so many things that couldve gone wrong though, like missed extra points (Cough Cough Elam) and such...:(

ET Warrior
10-31-2004, 06:29 PM
What? When did Elam miss an extra point?

I don't remember this, unless we picked up a two point conversion somewhere that I also missed the score also says Elam made all his extra points.

DarthBuzzard
10-31-2004, 06:31 PM
No no, not today, but last year in particular I recall Elam having troubles with extra points in critical times...I was just comparing how this was a critical time and how he might choke and miss...:p

ET Warrior
10-31-2004, 06:44 PM
Not really troubles. He missed ONE extra point after holding the record for most consecutive extra points in the nfl.

Jason Elam is one of the most reliable kickers EVER.

That's a pretty bold statement considering he leads in sacks in the NFC :p , well, maybe not after the bronco game.

****! That new cracking down on the secondary is killing the broncos, right when they finally get a front man for their D. Broncos always get crapped on. Ever since I was little and always watching them being from CO.

It is all up to if they start to play well in the begining. Has been of late >_>

Oh well, I heart my Broncos.

I also didn't know there were so many Denver fans in the swamp.
Everyone I know is anti-broncos

I was born with an orange foam finger on my hand :D

can I get a whoop whoop if you're a Denver fan...

whoop whoop!

Michael Vick is good, but he's really ALL the falcons have going for them. They don't have any outstanding recievers, and Michael Vick IS their running game. Denver just could NOT do ANYTHING right after the first quarter.

I don't really know about any Pierce on the Falcons, I know a Peerless Price on the falcons, and while he is a very fast and pretty talented reciever, he's nothing to write home about, and in fact he only got his first touchdown of the season today.

The falcons really are nothing without Vick.

They do have one of the NFL's leading sack lineman with Patrick Kerney, and excluding their romp by the Chiefs last week, they had the top 10 defensive team in the NFL.

But again, Steelers...........................you are now a top 3 team in the NFL, congrats.

Meh, Vick doesn't pass the ball around. He's got great talent, but he needs to stay in the pocket more and start getting the ball to his recievers.

ET Warrior
11-01-2004, 05:44 AM
He certainly used to be really bad about that, but he's starting to mature as a Quarterback, and he's learning how to do it.

I think he had like, 200 yards in the air against the broncos yesterday.

ckcsaber
11-01-2004, 05:52 AM
That was his first good passing game he's had this season.

Hopefully he will start to use his offense more. I mean, he's got a good team around him.

ET Warrior
11-01-2004, 06:39 AM
I'd say he has a decent team around him.

I think if you took Mike Vick out the Falcons would crumble. Their offesnive line is a joke, their running game only exists because Micheal Vick does the running.

Their defense was ranked pretty highly but these last two weeks they've been getting hammered. First the chiefs and their 8 running touchdown game, and then the Broncos (who looked terrible) still got over 300 yards through the air against them, and the only reason they had less than 100 rushing yards is because Shanahan never used Droughns.

The Falcons are not a BAD team, but they really aren't a GOOD team. They just have an exceptional quarterback.

ckcsaber
11-01-2004, 06:50 AM
Meh, they can't rely on Vick scrambling them down the field every game. They won last night because he made some fantastic passes. He needs to air out the ball more and get their opponents secondary looking for the pass more often.

That will open up a LOT more options for their RB and Vick.

ET Warrior
11-01-2004, 06:59 AM
I deffinately agree with you there. As soon as Michael Vick establishes that he's a big threat to throw the ball he becomes infinitely more dangerous. Not only will teams have to respect the pass opening the running lanes, but when Vick DOES roll out they have to decide to chase or remain in coverage, if they remain in coverage he runs for 20 yards on them, if they chase he can throw it for 30.

You saying teams don't already respect Vick as a QB? He's the most feared player in the NFL at the moment, and will be for a long time.

I respect him as an athlete. As a QB capable of running Atlanta's new west coast offense? Not yet.

He's already been force fed the West Coast offence by Mora and has had terrible results. Simple fact is, let Vick do whatever he wants and the team wins. Simple.

And it's not about the FANS respecting him. You're talking about a different type of respect.

PLAYER respect is a lot more important, and Vick leads the NFL in that invisible department.
