In the preview it mentioned that shield generators would block enemy fire. This is a great improvement over the previous 2 RTS where they would simply add hitpoints to your units..

Unless of course I'm mistaken..

well its a fiction game and its in space and all it woud be posible that thay add that and if the shields are down the ships will be pretty easy to kill yust like in the movie's

Oh yeah.. I hadn't thought about space. I was thinking mainly about ground battles..

Most likely, when shields are active, it'll reduce damage by 'x' percent or something like that.

Well thats what it's always done. But in the preview they mentioned that shields would "block certain types of projectile" or somthing along those lines..
