My mom is always mad at me for not changing the computer back to the way it is when she left it, and she is tired of it. She wants to reformat the HD and start over, and right now I can't blame her. I told her I would back up my files and get the reformat cds. Here's where my question is. I would like to, after reformatting the computer, creating my own XP user account so that I can have my own desktop and all that, and I was wondering if this would solve my problems. And if there are any disadvantages to this. I can't build my own comp until summmer, so until then I have to make due with this comp. Thanks for any help guys.

No not really. All you will have to do is after you reformat is go to the control panal and select users and create the accounts. You can also make seperate accounts during installing windows. When you create your own accounts you can have your own passwords and other people of other accounts cant view your files and have their own settings. Anything else you need help with?

I tried to explain it to her, but she still doesn't get it, so she's gonna talk to my cousin tomarrow because she did it with hers.
*is tempted to make one himself*

Ok, how smart is she with comps?
Can you pretend you formmated the computer by making a new Profile of her and you?
She wouldn't know the difference. :D

Here's an idea. Make one for her when you reformat, and just that one.
Then use the administrator as your own :evil2:
Then you can keep the charade on that you use "her's"

Yes in Xp you can make the users any profile you want. Theres like a list of roles you can have. I would just go ahead and make another account and forget it.
