I have heart, that the drive of the newer PS 2 is bad. Is that right?
I have never had problems with my PS 2 and you?

I don't own a PS2, but from what I am aware of there are no inherent troubles in the drives of the newer ones. The older ones I know had troubles if you stood the device up on end, the lens would become loose and unable to properly read discs.

It's possible the new ones are screwed up, but I really couldn't tell you

I have an old PS2, and a new slim PSTwo.

Both of them work fine for me.

Except my PSTwo works better, because it just does. o_0

In my opinion, why would u get another PS2 when ou already have one. It looks different whoop te do. But you would think that the newer one would go faster right.

The new Slim PS2 actually does read at a faster rate than the old one, and can read more reliably.

I dont' have a ps2 drive, but I hear their very well made.

Well I'll take your word. I'm not at all interested in it rite now tho. PS3 is gonna come out in Oct this year I hear, and that will be the new rage until they make another

I doubt the PS3 will be out this year. If anything it'll be spring release '06.

According to current news Microsoft will unveil the new Xbox they are hoping around holiday season this year. Sony's PS3 is expected mid '06.

And the newer one is so small and light. And it looks better.

(Has anybody seen that you can roll the Playstation emblem?:) )

Isn't there a new console from Nintendo this year? Are there any pictures?

You mean DS? It was released last year, and it's the "new" Gameboy. As for a console, I don't think so....

El Sitherino

It's not the new gameboy. Why are people so foolish to keep calling it that? If it were the new gameboy, wouldn't it have gameboy in the name? yes.

Not THIS year, but Nintendo DOES have a new console in the works. Release date is utterly unkown.

My sexy new PS2 runs like a dream. I have not had any trouble with it that I heard other people have (over heating, act.)

Yes. Obviously it's a waste of your money to get something that WILL eventually have the features, but doesn't have them NOW!

NOW I TELL YOU!

Exactly, there must be 70 ppl at my school whom like to play alone these days on their DS. If they wanna get something they might as well get the better PS2 (of wich i think they have lol)

Damn you sarcasm...why couldn't Ranre detect you.

*beats sarcasm with a stick*

I think I'll stick with my old ps2 until the ps3 comes out. No sense in me going out and getting another ps2. :p

Speaking of ps2: my Star Ocean disc won't load. :(

It loads when I don't have a memory card loaded and runs fine, but when I put in my memory card it screws up. :(

I don't have a regular memory card: I bought this 8MB one that has to be loaded by a disc.

Think the memory card is the problem? >_>

And yes: DS is for on the go gaming. You can't carry around a ps2 in your pockets :p

Yes, the memory cards from other publisher than Sony do not run at every game. They aren't so high leveld at this time.

I dunno man, I could carry around my new PS2 in my pockets <.<

I'd just have to carry the power cords and find a TV...

I still cannot understand how they could make such a little console! I have seen a older PS 2 some time before and now I bought a newer. Incredible!!

They made their newer PS2 smaller basically by taking out all the empty space that was in the old version. They were basically a cavernous shell with a little hardware inside.

the adapter was inside by the older version?

I looked at my PS 2 and I have seen that some plastic parts are askance. I got the feeling that a perfect converting is impossible in this small regions.
The first Playstation is much more robust than the PS 2. Of course the PS 2 has the better function.
