I don't know why, but somehow the thought of a power cord causing injury made me laugh. The wording just seemed funny.

ooo, Oct. 23, 2003?
Mine was made in August of 2003. So close. :p

Is it free? Mine always falls out, and it annoys me. Maybe a new one won't do it.

I learned about this recall earlier today. I don't know if I should bother, since there have been very few incidents of the malfunction. Still, it wouldn't hurt to be on the safe side, I suppose.

And now for your viewing pleasure, a link to Microsoft's reaction. (http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2005-02-18) :D

I'll have to order one, I bought mine in June 2003 I think.

I bought one, even though I probably don't need it because my XBOX is never on for more than two hours straight.

remember this?

Turns out the cables wern't the problem, its the power supply that shorts out.... the new cables just have a fuse in them so that when your xbox goes down it doesn't take your house with it... :D

Typical microsoft patch.... :D

Im not really scared :p

If people realized that the powersuppy would fry. They could get MS to replace every Xbox.
I don't blame MS for going to the powercord excuse, what else would they do?

They could replace the equipment that THEY made faulty.

It may have cost them, but they have the money, and it was THEIR fault.

At the very least they should replace any Xbox that craps out because of the power supply for no charge.
