I don't know if this has been posted yet in the past, but for you people who are old enough to remember these shows, here's a way to be nostalgic.

Holy crap, CRITTERS!!!

Probably one of the scariest movies I watched as a child :(

w00t, Dinosaurs... "I'm da baby. gotta love me!"

it makes me sad that my friends don't remember any of this... Or maybe it's rage and I should stab them all.

What's worse is that I'm using Foobar2000 with Kernal Streaming output so anytime a sound is played(like the fly ad) it stops the music.

And in return, I'll help you stop the music of those MOTHER FKING AD PEOPLE!

On topic, anybody else remember Alone in the Dark, Rocko's Modern Life, and Darkwing Duck? Those were the shows I grew up on, damnit. :(

Last night I was posting and heard the fly, I kept swatting the air thinking "damn it, theres a fly down here again!"

So I got up turned the lights on so I could see better. Couldnt find the damn thing.

Then I looked back over at the PC...

Rocko's Modern Life was good. I watch it on Nicktoons TV (24 hr cartoon channel of Nick stuff)

Darkwing Duck... ah... I never watched it, but I always tried to. Still remember being excited at its commercials...

Alone in the Dark scared the **** outta me...:D

Captain Planet... he's a hero... gonna bring pollution down to zero...

:p

I hated that guy.

i remember Darkwing Duck!

My sister was obsessed with darkwing duck :p

I never watched alone in the dark, I think I remember the commercials for it though, was like.. a burned out candle or something.

I would pull up that thread where everyone listed all their favorite old shows, but THEY DISABLED THE SEARCH AGAIN.

"Sorry. The search function has been disabled by the administrator."

Man, that's more annoying than "Sorry. You are not a winner. Please try again."

[EDIT] Btw, just wanted to add that I totally agree with the title of this thread. TV has gone downhill very fast. Barely any reason to watch it anymore.

El Sitherino

I'm gonna go pull out my "are you afraid of the dark" VHS'.

I loved that show, and "Eerie, Indiana".

I wouldn't complain about search being disabled. There's been such an influx of people, most likely due to Republic Commando's imminent release, the servers been down enough as it is. If search was enabled we'd NEVER get to post ;)

I just picked up on something, I see some of you talking about "Alone in The Dark" that was an arcade game in the 80's, not a show. The show you're thinking of is called "Are You Afraid of The Dark".

And how about you search through pages instead of being lazy. ;)

I knew Alone in the Dark didn't sound right, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

And, I tried, but I got tired of it after about 5 minutes. :p
And I figured i'd just pass it up 5000 times because I don't remember the title of the thread.

TV is fun now. Wait I only watch it when there is nothing else to do, but it is still fun. Like late at night on Cartoon Network Adult Swim comes on showing some funny cartoons like Aqua Teen Hunger FORCE or action ones like....uh I'm not so sure about action but theres cool anime shows like Inu-Yasha and Ghost In The Shell. (waits for all the people to disagree)

lukeiamyourdad
02-26-2005, 04:13 PM
That's the thing. It's late night.

Most of these shows are saturday morning cartoons.

See the difference?

Vikinor
02-26-2005, 04:42 PM
Well is there a problem with late night?

lukeiamyourdad
02-26-2005, 04:47 PM
Yes, you're supposed to be sleeping...or very tired...

Besides, known fact, saturday morning cartoons have gone down the drain. They're in a state of suckage.

Boba Rhett
02-26-2005, 05:24 PM
How very true. :( I remember waking up early saturday morning, barely able to contain my glee, as a colorful banquet of toons would play out before me for 6+ hours. They were almost all great too.

I dunno what happened but everything went to heck very fast.

Vikinor
02-26-2005, 05:30 PM
Well I do agree with Saturday morning cartoons or whatever. They all suck now. During the summertime when there is no school and if you don't have a job then you could stay up late and watch the good stuff. BUT BE WARNED KIDDIES IF YOU GO TO THE WRONG CHANNELS YOU WILL SEE SOME VERY WRONG STUFF!

Vikinor
02-26-2005, 06:01 PM
You pay me some good money and I'll get you one. What channel exactly are you talking about with the good stuff on Saturday morning? I guess it doesn't matter because EVERYTHING that comes on Saturday morning is stupid. You should all stay up late and watch Adult Swim on Saturday night. Now theres the good stuff. Good things come to those who wait from Saturday morning to Saturday night. :D

Vikinor
02-28-2005, 09:33 PM
Like the pokemon and yugio stuff?

Mike Windu
03-01-2005, 02:48 AM
Harrumph. There are no good Saturday morning cartoons I'm afraid...

But they did have that Spongebob marathon that started at noon a couple days ago... :p

Wait, are you saying SB causes pain? blasphemer!

Or are you just saying you were drugged up :p

Either way, I'm filling this thread up with SB quotes!

"Hey Patrick, I thought of something funnier than 24."

"Let's hear it."

"25."

I still like mermaid man and barnacle boy IV. (I think it's IV, the one where they ditch spongebob and he ends up popping the dirty bubble)

Mike Windu
03-01-2005, 03:20 AM
Haha. The Manray episode was great too.

But I like Idiot Box, where they buy a TV and use the box.

"I have more imagination in one tentacle than you two have in your whole bodies."
"Good! Now all you need is a box!"

and

"Spongebob, I can't feel my legs; you're gonna havta cut them off."
"I can't do that Patrick."
"Why not?"
"Because... I already chopped off my own arms!"

Or the fine dining episode

"Come on let's go let's go what do you think I'm paying you for?"
"You don't pay me. We don't even exist. We're just a clever visual metaphor used to personify the abstract concept of thought."
"One more crack like that and you're outta here!"
"No! Please! I have 3 kids!"

:( I know all this from memory.... and .wav files... I've got about 70 of em... :(

Oh I remember most of those toons, those were good day good days, one of my favorite old toons was Bugs Bunny, I still love mimicking the carrot eating thing

But I used to always wake up on a Saturday morning, " Ah what a wonderful day to watch toon", but now there are no good ones

Mike Windu
03-01-2005, 04:46 PM
That defeats the purpose of Bugs Bunny :(

He was awesome.

and no matter what you all say, Space Jam was a damn good movie.

Welcome to the Space Jam, here's your chance do your dance at the Space Jam...

They're heroes in a half-shell and they're green (Hey - get a grip!)
When the evil Shredder attacks
These Turtle boys don't cut him no slack!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Splinter taught them to be ninja teens (He's a radical rat!)

I just posted the lyrics dude.

Kinda like Bugs Bunny when Elmer asks him if he's seen a rabbit and he says "bout this high, really long ears, bounces around like so?"

"YEAH YEAH!"

"Never heard of 'im."

"Duck Season" Bugs Bunny
"Rabbit Season" Daffy Duck

I think it gives him power. Harvey Birdman is the adult swim created show in which he is an attorney. Birdman is where he's the super hero.

Birdman gets his energy/power from the sun.

Vikinor

Yea Harvey Birdman is pretty good. I remember one episode where he had like a skin cancer mole or something so he had to get his sun power from sun tanning creams.
