All you windows-wizards out there! Help!
My PC's infected by whatever spyware or viruses and they have changed my C-drive's name to the following:
http://img27.exs.cx/img27/200/c3bo.jpg

I need to know either:
A) The codes on how to get that name in DOS
or
B) How to change the name of my C-drive

And for god sake, make it quick dammit

Well if your drive is that unprotected that you can't change it within the OS, you might as well just format your drive, reinstall the OS and start anew.

In DOS:
`label c:`

If I were you I'd take care of getting rid of the supposed virus first.

Ummm, don't you have any antivirus software... like... uh.... Norton, or McCaffee or AVG or something of that sort?

...good ole Swamp Tech Support, land of the reformat = solution to everything... :p

ah well, good to hear its fixed Tepe. I'd suggest you get some AV software, even if its just AVG, also beg your parents to get you a newer OS....

Did he say spyware? That stuff is hard to get rid of. You should download SpySweeper or something like that to get rid of it. And to no offense but I have not gotten along with InsaneSith in the past so therefore I DO NOT LOVE YOU INSANESITH :p

Hey, I ain't getting a newer OS. 98 is the most stable Windows at the moment... And my Linux doesn't run most of the programs I want to use >_>

when linux can run all Windows-programs except IE, I will be in heaven

PS. The problem actually isn't yet fixed... I happened to screw it up in one way or a nother... >_>

Let me guess, you're using 2k, huh?

With programs I mostly meant PSP, various games and so on... If you meant to ask about this:

Nope, a tweaked XP with BBL and Ubuntu Linux. But I know win2k is the most stable because.... it is. It's been said many times even by MS figure heads and executives.

Mostly because I've found linux to have pretty much everything I need right there, easy to get. Games it's a bit of a wade through.

win2k sports optimum resource splitting. It distributes resources more efficiently among programs than any other MS OS. And it's lightweight.
