Looks really, really nice. When I first saw it , I instantly thought "terragen" but that's just me. ;)

The big planet/moon thingy is breathtaking, althouh I can't figure out why the smaller one is our moon. Care to explain?

GothiX
02-27-2005, 03:58 AM
It's our moon because it's.. not another one? Sorry, don't quite get your question.

I think IG is saying that the small moon looks like the moon which orbits our planet as opposed to a compleatly made up one.

Indeed, it is the our moon in that picture. And i'm confused because, that's obviously not our planet. Just wondering why you stuck that in there instead of make a whole new one. Thought maybe it had some meaning, or something.

Makes the think of "Battle of the Planets".

And on further inspection the stars look a bit clustered, but other than that, superb!

Yeah, I guess. But don't get me wrong though this is an awesome picture, gives me the jitters.

Could be a moon that looks like it, could be ours, there could be a distance in-between. TYhat's where your own fantasy comes into play - art isn't JUST to look at ;)

There must be some really nasty tides on that planet. Like a tsunami every time the moon rises...
;)

The image is really nice though.
Reminds me a little of the wild landscapes that Roger Dean used to do on all the Yes album covers.

It looks absolutely great, however I would recommend to make the stars less packed together. But if that's what you want inside your picture, it''s fine.

Could someone make that sweeet pic into a wallpaper for me? 1024x768 resolution? :D

GothiX

I'm afraid I can't, the original resolution actually was really small.

In the meanwhile;

Thanks! Not quite as good as the first one, but I guess it'll do. :p Heh. Anyway, can I get it without the text. I really like it a lot, but I wanna see it without the text. Thanks again. :)

Gaze at horizon all day long
Feel hopeless

Iíll never know where I belong
Of no avail to see you again

And when the night embraces my shore with itís dark, cold hands
Iím sure a star will light your way
My Cast Away ?

Visions Of Atlantis - Cast Away

that is a pretty good pic though:eek:

Why'd you have to quote the lyrics? O.o

LadyJedi, your version will be sent via PM shortly. In the meanwhile, I'll go finish my other one I've been working on.

I'd love any or all of those without words.

And for those of you who seem to know a lot about the effect of the moon on gravity, if one moon rose east to west and another south to north in such a way that they never collided, how would it affect the tides and gravity?

Well, if they were about the same size, and perpendicular to each other, the tides would be less. Such as neap tide, which occurs when the moon and the sun are perpendicular to each other, theres practically no tide.

Nice pic gothix, i'd like to get good at terragen.

woaw! this many replies from just showing one picture. huh?!

the picture's nice but it's a little boring. It needs more action in it, like a character of some sort. Otherwise it just seems like a rare time every so many years where something happens like an eclipse. and in this case a pictuire was taken of it.

get what i'm sayin?

Ah, of course, I'm going to ruin a very serene picture, which I put a lot of effort in to get like this, with an action scene.

Vikinor
03-06-2005, 11:19 AM
Yea I can just see that. A pefrect picture with nothing wrong. All is peaceful but look near the bottom. Someone just got shot in the head. There's your action.

GothiX
03-06-2005, 11:38 AM
That's called "ruining an image", and that isn't my intention.

Vikinor
03-06-2005, 11:42 AM
That was sarcasm. I think the pictures are fine the way they are. And no offense tags but I don't think peaceful serene pictures are for you.

nice work gothix

though the 'cast away' one reminds me of a poster a hippie chick I knew (who ate pot for breakfast) had in her kitchen.....except hers did have a unicorn in there somewhere :p
