View Full Version : "Weirdest item on E-Bay" - a haunted Nintendo console!

It pauses itself to make you lose, it talks to you while you play, and it does some other weird things. Your cat is terrified of it, and your girlfriend convinces you to sell it on E-Bay. Behold: The haunted Nintendo "Entertainment" System that supposedly belonged to a passed-away boy (how utterly respectful to dead people to degrade them into ghost stories... If my best friend died and someone started a rumour that she was haunting the [insert room or place here], I'd beat the guy up).

As for this console, I say scam, and a successful one at that: The highest bidder got the NES for a good-looking, fine-smelling $200+, enough for a cursed PlayStation and poltergeist X-Box, evil memory cards included.

For the record, I do actually believe in ghosts. But a haunted NES? Fat chance. Why would a ghost, even if it is the ghost of a boy who loves video games, haunt an NES anyway?

For more info, read the first post of this thread: Link. (http://aoe3.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forums/display.cgi?action=st&fn=2&tn=21426&st=recent&f=2,21426,0,365)

And here's the URL of the NES on E-Bay: Link. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=62054&item=8176591365&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)

It's a nice, spooky, chilly story. Unbelievable, but chilly.

PS: Can anyone point me to other haunted E-Bay items? There are the haunted teeth (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1469&item=5565329530&rd=1), but other than that I don't know of anything.

I call bull****. If I wanted to haunt something, I would not haunt an NES.

I'd haunt my copy of Half Life ^_^

Maybe he played it too much and killed over.

yeah, big bull**** there. but I wonder why people still pay so much for it? Do they believe or are they just dumb?

I don't know about paying $200 for a console, but I'd bet you $200 that it mysteriously lost any and all supernatural attributes once it got sold:D .

my nes does something like that, turns out i'm just crazy and when i showed it to my friends i realized that they only existed in my head

Anyways, anyone got a good review for Ring 2?

03-21-2005, 01:53 AM
clearly that elmo doll aint haunted, it's only 3 bucks. If it really was haunted one would charge 300$

It's called stealing from the dumb. What else would they do with it?

I saw the doll, too. Clear logic hole in that story:

If that woman committed suicide, how on Earth do we know what she saw in that closet?!

Cool and sad at the same time. ;P

On the other hand, you could argue that if it was REALLY haunted, that you'd have to cut the price down, because nobody would WANT it.

Then again, the James Randi's (though he's got bigger fish to fry) and Spook Sleuths of the world and the curious you'd think would really want to check stuff like this out and run some tests on it. So it could go either way.

What will they think of next?

@ the Haunted NES: who cares... it's a NES! I'd kill to get my hands on it either way.

Oh man, I remembered about the Jesus doughnuts from a year or so back. Anyone remember that? It was a box of donuts that had little "jesus" figures punched in the donut.

Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee what you will or will not experience with the System. Obviously, if this is what myself, as well as others believe it to be, the supernatural is something completely beyond my control. Do not bid if you do not acknowledge and agree with this.

We welcome your questions and we will answer them to the best of our ability.

That really is sad. Most people just got it because it was a NES. Good times.. I guess, I never had one, lol.

i'm gonna sell my nes as "haunted" because it freezes up like, once every, 200 times i play it

03-23-2005, 07:32 PM
hey, isn't there some sorta law against this? cause how could a gamecube be haunted? false advertising

If someone actually believes it, they deserve to pay for it.

But no, it's not illegal. Because technically we can't disprove that it's haunted.

*starts evil scheme to sell everything he owns as "haunted"*

including my soul....wonder if someone will buy it

There was that Lady that tried to sell her dead brother's haunted soul. Seriously.... that just creeps me out.

03-28-2005, 12:03 AM
I dont get it. If I was a spirit, Id much rather explore the universe than hang around the earth, not to mention an old gaming console :(

*please no one repond to this as I do not want to provoke religious debate !* :(
