Wow, I was absolutely blown away by this movie. I loved it. It's definetly on my top ten list. I would recomend anyone to go see it.

Very violent, a couple scenes have nudity, but if you're over 18 or know a theater that doesn't cart, what reason do you have for not seeing this movie? None I say, none!

It's based on the comic books, and stays very true to them.

I would say this movie is similar to Max Paine and Pulp Fiction.

If you haven't seen the trailor yet search for it and watch it, if that, the huge cast and awsome directors, Jesica Alba's hotness, and my vote of confedence, arn't enough to get you to go see it...anyway just go see it right now and come back and tell me you loved it or else...

This movie is a bit like Pulp Fiction in the way the story evolves. It's three stories, tied together by events and characters and the city it's in.

It is VERY violent, contains mild nudity(or the non-US version of mild >_> ) and language is very crude as well.

This movie is extremely good, very hard to watch at times, but has an incredible cast and incredible story. It really is a comic book copy-pasted and put on the big screen. Up to now, I think it's the only comic book movie that stays so true about the source material, since Frank Miller has been involved in pretty much everything.

One thing has been untrue though. Jessica Alba's character isn't topless like in the comic book and that's an insult to the comic :D

There's quite a bit of that "mild nudity" though. :xp:

Personally I don't care for the nudity. Jesica Alba is hot, and I really liked her character's personality, a good combination if you ask me and hard to find. That's what I look for in women, and I acctually prefer the decency of not showing nudity. I don't think they shouldn't show nudity though, it fit the scenes it was in quite nicely.

Basically what I'm saying is everything about the movie was perfect. I couldn't have imagined it being better.

I also find it very inspiring for my own writing. But I never do any nudity in my writing, and extremely little swearing. But I couldn't picture this movie without both.

This movie was a HUGE surprise to me, I didn't know anything about it until I saw the trailor and decided to see it that same day. Man was I blown away. I haven't seen a movie this good in a long long time.

This movie was really well done. I really liked the style of the whole thing. Clive Owen is pretty badass, and all i hvae to say about elijah wood is "frodo!! what has happened to you???"

Yeah, I'm going to go see it again tommorow. I loved Rosario Dawson, I thought she played a great Gail. I didn't really like Devon "Shovelface" Aoki as Miho though. She just fills me with this incredible rage that rivals that of the Hulk's.

Mandalorian54
04-03-2005, 11:27 AM
Well it's definetly not the wierdest movie I've seen, but it's weird in a good way.

I'm seeing it again tonight because my dad and younger brother haven't seen it. Yeah my younger brother isn't 18 but they don't cart at the theater I'm going to. I saw a girl that looked younger than 10 in the theater when I saw Kill Bill.

I didn't mind Devon Aoki as Miho, in fact I even liked her. She fit the whole samurai sword thing pretty well too with her half asian look.

El Sitherino
04-04-2005, 03:10 PM
There's really little need for character developement, you basically just see them, and you understand them. No real need to go in and detail the characters, their lives, and why they are who they are. Plus the movie was basically just made for the fans of the series, more or less. Their goal was to stay as true to the series as possible, but still get mainstream audiences to watch, but without sacrificing the mood and just making it a ****fest of bad storytelling, or abandoning the fans.

And I laugh at the reviewers that really didn't get it. "it was a senseless adventure of gore, blah blah blah" .... why do you think it's called Sin City? Everyone's out of their mind. :p

My "I don't like your attitude" remark was directed at the Moderator who cut the thread into two threads, one for Sin City and one for Nudity talk.

The thread is mine, I created it, if you're going to police conversations and say I can't talk about what I want to where I want to, in my own friken thread...then I'm not wasting my time here.

The remark was not directed at any of the regular posters.

It would be one thing if someone came into my thread and starting talking about nudity when I didn't want to, but I wanted to, and you have no rite to cut up my conversation.

I'm really pissed about it and I don't mean to offend anyone, but if I'm going to continue posting on the site one thing's gotta change. And that's the over the top policing of conversations.

Maybe I was mislead in thinking that this forum was for talking about whatever I wanted, maybe I was mislead in thinking that, maybe the rules have been updated since I last checked or maybe the rules should be clerified so that this kind of missunderstanding doesn't happen again. Or maybe you should just let me talk about what I want to as long as it's not breaking any rules and leave me alone.

I made this thread.

If I want to talk about something related to Sin City, being it's nudity content, but that's not considered directly related to Sin City by the Moderator, is there some reason why I can't? Or is it just you're say goes? Is that how it works around here?

I don't care if people want to hear about the movie and not a debate over tits in films. It's my conversation, and they are perfectly capable of starting their own thread.

Look, all I'm saying is you had no right to cut my thread. Stop making fun of me and show a little respect, especially if you want to be respected as a Moderator. And I ask that you don't cut my threads again, unless it's content that I don't want in my thread or some rule is broken.

Yes it's your thread...but this is still a PG-13 type forum. You can't talk about just "anything" you want. If it appears to violate that PG-13, the moderator can come in and take care of it.

Calling people gay isn't exactly a proper thing to do, either.

As for being a "respected" moderator... it is impossible to please everyone. No matter what you have to do, you will "always" tick off someone....so don't try pulling a guilt trip on us... :p

Look, all I'm saying is you had no right to cut my thread. .

I actually had every right to cut it. Your topic of the thread is Sin City *No Spoilers*. Your first post made it clear the thread is about the movie, to discuss whether or not you liked it. The debate YOU were having had nothing to do with nudity in THIS movie in particular, it was about nudity in general, and therefore was not on-topic. Instead of CLOSING the thread which was my perogative, I chose to split it so you could keep both going. (And so you know, it took me a good 5 minutes just to split the thread, and it would have taken 2 seconds to close it)

And I ask that you don't cut my threads again, unless it's content that I don't want in my thread or some rule is broken

Sorry, doesn't quite work that way. If you have another thread that breaks off onto another tangent that deserves it's own thread, Imma do it again, whether or not you want it to happen. That is my job, and I will do it to the best of my abilities.

Anywho, this thread is getting off topic, if you keep it up I'm splitting it into a "Was ET out of line for splitting the Sin City thread" thread. :xp:

Edit - I was joking there at the end, that's not an appropriate thread and it would get closed. However, could we please either get back on topic or let this thread die?
