It's always something within our society that something should be forbidden because god forbid, it's evil!

In case you were wondering, No, you cannot read that red font, all it does is hurt the eyes.

If they're concerned for the child's safety, crack down on schools that practice corporal punishment, teachers who refuse to let a bursting kid go to the restroom, teachers bullying students, students bullying students, and other stuff like that.

Gee, they make it sound like their school is a perfect Heaven without any sort of problem but this red ink...

El Sitherino

... That is retarded.

Then again the classes I did bad in the teachers used colors like green and crap. Odd, most of my positive comments teachers used red. Red is psychologically the color of passion, I think it's actually a plus if used for criticism, it shows intense interest in the thing.... *shrugs*

I'm rambling now, so whatever.

I heard about this like, a year ago. Not this particular article of course, but people were talking about how red is negative and blah blah blah.

The stupid thing is that the REASON red is negative is because it's the color we USE to denote bad. It's a human convention. If we started using green to mark wrong answers or bad grades then GREEN would be the same thing.

It are dumb.

Pffffft, if parents think using red ink to grade elementary school papers is bad, they really need to put things into perspective. Red is used because it's a bold and eye-catching color. Other colors simply aren't as good for standing out from what the student has written.

If their kids ever take honors classes for high school, these parents will really know what it's like for their kids to undergo stress. I swear, those teachers used enough red ink in a single semester to fill an Olympic swimming pool. :p

Where did he go?

Red IS bad. You look at your school paper, the first thing you notice is the red. A big RED F is the worst.

Yeah. What IG said on both counts. What's the problem? Parents are so God damned scared of having stupid kids they need to...nevermind. Give all of these little retarded bastards little smily faces and glittery gold stars for every F and D they make. That should make the world a nicer place for puppy dogs, cotton candy, rainbows, and clowns everywhere.

I believe he (Kain) was perm-banned.

As for this whole red ink business, parents should be grateful that teachers are even watching out for students' mistakes in the first place in a education system that is free of charge. Some parents need to realize that not everything in the world has to be tuned to their child's desires.

Red in nature symbolizes danger, which is part of why it's used that way in human society.

I believe their reasoning was that red was a stressful colour, and therefor, other colours must be used to give markings.

Bull****.

Or goof off in class, cut class, skip school, smoke marijuana, sit back and relax.

Problem avoided.

It actually kinda saddens me to see kids that DO that, throwing their future away.

Parents objected. Red writing, they said, was "stressful."
So, the comment: "Nice try retard, next time try writing down some CORRECT answers." written in BLUE would be fine?

OH CRAP! I am in honors English too. NO joke.

And yea you can pretty much write anything in blue. Because your 1st thought is "It's in blue I did good!" until you read it.

I prefer the red. If I see some red marks on my test paper, I already know I made some mistakes, instead of having to find out when reading it. Doubles the shock, really.

Having fun doesnt necessarily come hand in hand with throwing your future away. Why bother striving for a future if you didnt enjoy yourself along the way? Yes, even though most of these ways to have fun are usually described as Taboo and bad, their still fun, very. :)

soccer moms are delightful, like a finely aged wine When people say that about older women, I always feel the need to respond with "maybe, but the majority of them are corked"...

Give me a girl my own age any day...

It is finally good for something!

How do I put a picture of one of my tests on here to show that red is BAD. I got this test and I did good, but it's in red so it's bad.
It is prolly in red because the teacher doesn't like me.

ET Warrior
04-11-2005, 06:41 PM
It's probably in red because red stands out, so you can see what your score is as soon as you look at it.

If you want to post it you'd have to scan it and upload it to an image host.
