Xbox Brain tank glitch

I'm running into a big problem. I was facing the brain tank and wasn't doing so well. So I used the smelling salts to get back into the real world.

Now, anytime I hook up to the Brain Tumbler then go back to the Brain Experiment my screen goes to the battle with the tank but a close up view of the ground scrolling in circles. I cannot access the salts or anything with that control pad. It gets stuck - rotating endlessly.

I have to press START to load a previous game.

I've tried numerous button combinations, but to no avail.

Any ideas...? This kinda sucks.

That's really bizarre - are you in the first or second stage of the battle?

At the moment the only think I can think of doing is having to restart from your latest checkpoint, which is a drag. I'll try to see what I can think of, but I have the PC version.

did you ever find a way to fix this glitch without starting the game all over again? i'm having the same problem on the xbox originals download version for 360..
