1. SUMMARY:
===========

We've all heard it before, and have felt the burden. "Where's the Cheat Console?!? I can't see it!"

Apparently with the introduction to TSL, we also got introduced to the now 'invisible' cheat codes console which makes it very difficult to accurately get what you want. This mod is a fix for that (of sorts).

2. Hak Pad DESCRIPTION:
=======================

What this mod does is allows you to access the game's items via "Virtual Storefronts". So now, not only do you get the item, but you can read the stats, information and such as well as look at them before "creating" the item for yourself. ALL items are included in the variety of Storefronts, and all items are FREE. That's right, FREE, afterall this mod IS a cheating console 'substitute'.

Also, the Hak Pad can award Lightside Points, Darkside Points as well as act as a credit dispenser. PLUS, you can access both a Medical Lab Bench as well as a Workbench.

Because I wanted this to be easily accessible, the Hak Pad can be used from your game's main screen in your usable items bar to the lower left (where the armbands and such are displayed). The item itself is a Datapad, so you don't have to worry about having to equip an item in order to access it's functions.

Please bear in mind this is by no means a replacement for tools such as tk102's SaveGame Editor. That program has MUCH MORE capabilities than this mod. Mine is mainly to be used for in-game cheats without having to exit the game to get them.

http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php

One note, this mod will only allow you access to normal in-game items. Not custom items, modded items or anything of that nature. This was one main reason why I decided to use "Storefronts". If you have a little bit of modding knowledge, you can easily "insert" modded items into the Virtual Storefront's inventory. The game will then recognize the new items once you start your game. So in a manner, this mod is 'customizable' to your tastes. However, if your modded items are simply adjusted in-game .uti's (with the same name) those modded items WILL be available within the Storefronts. The inventory calls upon the game's list of item's .uti names.

Upon using the Hak Pad, you WILL notice some items that have no descriptions, or some may have no icons. This is because I've included EVERYTHING from TSL's .uti references. There are visual stunt models, non-upgradeable versions of items and a host of other goodies. I especially urge you to check out the Guns Storefront as it has some unique hand stunts that are amusing to say the least ;)

***************************************
USE THE ITEMS IN THE MOD AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
***************************************

Just like with cheat code console items, some items may have unknown and unforseeable side effects... this mod is to be used as a "tool" of sorts. All it is, is a visual reference substitute to the cheat console. Of course, at least with this mod, there's no .ini hacks to be made. Even if you don't use it to gain the items, it will at least provide you with some stuff so you can experiment or look over if you are curious. I know that due to the random loot generator, some items are rarely, if ever, seen by everyone... Now you have the chance without having to dig out the cheat codes ;)

Feedback and suggestions are most welcome! I'm quite sure that this mod is 'incomplete' and a Work In Progress. There ARE some features I haven't been able to incorperate yet...(such as Ability and Skills adjustments) but future Booster Packs will add on to it's functionality. Any input to what you'd like to see would be welcome :)

and lastly, ENJOY!

3. STATS: (with Booster Pack v.2)
=================================

- Workbench
- Component Bench
- Medical Bench
- Virtual Items Storefront (FREE Items)
- Awards LS / DS Points
- Dispense Credits
- Create Chemicals Option
- Create Components Option
- Receive the Lightsaber Quest Parts
- "Train" NPC's into a Jedi Class!
- andargor's Holowan CLoakworks 2 Disguises (over 500+)
- Set PC / NPC's Level
- Adjust Skill Point Levels
- Adjust Attribute Scores
- Special Interface for other Modder's Tools

4. INSTALLATION & COMPATIBILITY:
================================

If you haven't done so already, create a folder named "override" (without quotes) in your KotOR II directory.

**- this mod uses a spells.2da file. If you are already using such a file, please read the disclaimer below. It's VERY important that your .2da file isn't located within a sub-folder of your override directory!

************************************************** **********************************
***
*** IMPORTANT! The installer will NOT look for existing files within sub-folders
*** of the Override folder, just in the Override folder itself. If you have
*** modified versions of any of the above listed files (except dialog.tlk) sitting
*** in sub-folders, move them up into the Override folder before running the
*** Installer. This is to avoid ambiguity in case several files with the same
*** name exists in different folders.
***
************************************************** **********************************

Now, from the .rar file... drag-n-drop the folder "TSL Hak Pad" onto your desktop (or folder of your choice).
DO NOT place the folder in your override directory.

Next, open the Hak Pad Folder and run the installer application named "Install_TSLHakPad.exe" that came with this mod. This will update the necessary game files and install the Mod into your game. Make sure that there is a folder named "tslpatchdata" present in the same folder the Installer application is. This folder contains essential data files the installer needs.

Note that you must run this installer for the Mod to function, simply copying the files from the "TSLPatchData" folder will NOT work.

5. USAGE:
=========

1- with cheats enabled, type "~" (without quotes) and enter:

giveitem hak_pad

2-) Press "ENTER"

** For the Anti-Console,

You're out of luck. Since this IS a "cheating/just for fun mod", I didn't feel "right" about adding it in the game. Kinda defeats the purpose. I'd suggest using tk102's Save Game Editor to get it:

http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php

Plus, since it's useable from the get go, there's no need to "back track" your steps or start a new game in order to get it.

6. REMOVAL:
===========

When you run the Installer initially, it will create backup copies of any existing files it modifies**. These files will be placed in a new folder named "backup", located in the same folder as the Installer. To uninstall the mod, delete any files that were placed in your Override folder, then copy the content of the Backup folder back into your override folder.

The following files were added to your Override folder when you installed this mod:

Here's a mini- tutorial on how to edit the StoreFronts to add your modded items. I just copied & pasted what I posted over at PCGM in the comments section ;)

------------------------------------

First, you'll need Fred Tetra's KotOR Tool:

http://kotortool.home.comcast.net/index.html

Now, once you start KotOR Tool, goto: File > Open GFF Files...

Depending on what you want to edit (storefront), open the appropriate .utm file

hak_armor.utm --> Armor, Clothing, etc.
hak_bands.utm --> Armbands & Shields
hak_belts.utm --> Belts and Stealth Items
hak_droid.utm --> ALL droid related stuff
hak_explosives.utm --> grenades, mines rockets
hak_jedi.utm --> Robes, Crystals, Sabers and Upgrades
hak_masks.utm --> Masks & Headgear
hak_medical.utm --> Health, Stims & Implants
hak_melee.utm --> Melee Weapons & Upgrades
hak_misc.utm --> Parts, Spikes, Tunnelers, Pazaak Cards, etc.
hak_ranged.utm --> Blasters, Rifles, Upgrades

Once that opens, to your lower left is a button named "Inventory"... Click It

Now here's the tricky stuff...

To your left is the game items, to your right is the store inventory. Grab ANYTHING from the Left side of the screen (a datapad is usually the easiest to distinguish) and drag-n-drop it over to the Right side of the screen (The Inventory)...

Now scroll all the way to the bottom... and you'll see the item you dropped listed...

Click the "Dropable" check box so the check mark goes away

In the "ResRef" column, highlight the entry and type in the ResRef (cheat code) of the modded item you want to be available. Next to that entry, you can enter a quantity (how many of said item you want to be able to buy in one store visit)... enter any number from 1-99

Now, check the "Dropable" box so that the check mark appears again...

** You don't have to enter a "Name", KotOR Tool will erase it anyways, so there's no point in it ;)

Voila!

Now, click the "OK" button to the lower right, then on the smaller window click the "Save" button and save either to your override folder or wherever you opened the file from.

** Make sure when all is said and done, you drop the new edited and saved file in your override...

Hope That Helps! :D

This mod is awesome!!!
I just have one question about it, I like to keep my Override folder kinda organized, in the main folder I only keep the .2da files and I create folders with the mod's name inside the Override to place the .uti's, .ncs and others.
The TSL patcher can install it like this or I have to do it manually?
If so, do I just put those files I see in your post in the folder of this mod or there are more?

As long as your spells.2da is located in the main override folder, it should install nicely... however, DON'T place the "TSL Hak Pad" folder (located in the .rar) in your override directory... it'll screw things up ;)

When it installs, the Hak files will be located in your main override folder (from there, you can now move those files into an individual folder)...

But as you've alreadyy done, it's always good to keep your .2da's in the main override directory :)

I've named my files pretty self-evident so moving/deleting etc. is easy... just search for "hak" and it'll find every file included in the mod (other than spells.2da) hehehehe....

I'm not sure what you mean?

Do you mean like a "list" of cheat codes... or an actual visible cursor line?

I have tried every way from Sunday in order to get the console visible...

From overriding all game fonts, ever .ini hack I know of (and there's alot ;) ) to manually editing all of the Game's GUI's to know avail.... this mod was my final answer out of futility...

I was just gooing to make it a list you could select from, but the Shops were MUCH easier... I would've had to make a giveitem script for every item.. and well, I'm just not that talented when it comes to scripting... ask anyone here ;) hehehe....

Very nice. Reminds me a bit about my debug force power, though that one doesn't contain stores with all game items. Too lazy for that kind of work, good thing someone else was not. :)

Sorry to keep bothering you guys :(
But I can't find the made items in the left place.
I even clicked on Custom Items and nothing. Does it has to be placed somewhere specifically?

Made items? Are you talking about modded items?

If so, you won't be able to find them. Fred hasn't added that functionality in it yet... you'll need to drag any of the items from the left of the screen to the right side of the screen, THEN change that item's ResRef (cheat code) to the modded item's ResRef...

Ahhhhh!! :D :D
Ok, just one last question :p
It can be any kind of item?
Like I'm trying to include an armor, do I have to get another armor or I can get anything like a datapad?

It can be any item you wish :)

I just use datapads as they are "easy to find" in a shop... if you use an armor .uti in an armor shop.... things can get confusing if you accidentally sort the columns before scrolling to the very bottom ;)

I'll strike it up to me being fickle and set in my "old" ways... I just have to try the impossible and frustrating route before I do the obvious solution ;) hehehe..

Besides, everyone is blowing me away with released mods so I was getting jealous of my low turnout rate for TSL. Peer Pressure!

Hello everyone, I'm having some trouble with this mod. I've downloaded the file, extracted it onto the desktop with "TSLPatchData" folder. I am able to access the "Install_TSLHakPad.exe" file, however after the warning about the spell 2DA file I click YES and an error screen appears that states... "RichEdit line insertion error."

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hey Yohan,

That's a first for me?? To be honest, I'm not even sure what that means.. yoohoo! stoffe, any ideas?

Yohan, can you copy and paste the contents of the "installlog.rtf"? When the installation began, it should've placed this file in the same folder where the .exe file is. :)

No idea, haven't encountered that one before. That's the disadvantage of being just one person with one computer to test on, hard to find all odd things that can happen to others but conveniently never happens to yourself. :)

@yohan: Did this happen as soon as you pressed the button to start the installation? Was the info-text cleared before it happened? What OS version and OS language are you using? Have you installed any other mods that use the same installer app, and if so did the same happen there?

As for another download location, you can download the mod at my site (JumpStationZ) as well. The link is in my sig (just go to the mods section) :D

Okay, I'm using an English OS. (However I have installed an East Asian Language recently).

I don't think I have used this kind of program before.

The error screen with the RichEdit error appears after I click the YES on the confirm window and the RTF window appears.

However only one line appears before the error screen appears which is...
?Installation started 7/10/2005 2:32:35 PM...

Thanks for the help!

I just re-read your first post and noticed the word "extracted" (as in the function?)... try this way instead (if you haven't already)..

When you open the .rar file you'll see a folder named "TSL Hak Pad". Now, instead of extracting the contents, drag-n-drop that entire folder (not just the contents) onto tyour desktop. Don't use the extract function, just a simple drag should do.

Once the folder is on your desktop, open it and you'll see the "Source" folder, the "tslpatchdata" folder, the readme.txt and the "Install_TSLHakPad.exe" file.

Double-click the .exe file to start the install.

Do you get the error message now? OR if you get past that point and it asks you where your game install is, make sure you point it to the KotOR II game folder. Default path is:

C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2

Does it come up with the error message now?

I'm not sure but I think if you use "extract" it saves folder path information that could possibly mess up something (I didn't pack the .rar with folder paths).

If that's not the problem, make sure you're not running the install.exe from inside the override folder.. that will mess stuff up... best to run it from your desktop, then once it's installed... move the folder to your choosing (again, NOT the override folder)... the installer should copy, append and edit any file it needs to so there shouldn't be any "active" work for you to do rather than double-click the install.exe...

Let me know if that helps :)

The 'Extract function doesn't seem to be the problem because I just redid it and the same error message apeeared

I don't get a window that asks me where the KOTOR II file path is.

The error screen appears after the confirm window appears asking....

Are you sure you want to install? Be sure if you have a spells.2da file, it is in your main override folder, NOT in a sub-folder.

After clicking yes the installlog.rtf appears with the ?Installation started with the RichEdit error.

I've tried to mess around with the installer in any way I could think of, but I can't reproduce that error, so I have no idea what could be causing it.

Are you using Windows XP? Do you have a 64 bit processor?

As a last resort, try this: Go into the tslpatchdata folder and find the changes.ini file. Open this with notepad and look for a key named LogLevel under the [Settings] section. Change the value from 3 (I assume) to 0 and save the modified changes.ini file.

This should deactivate the progress log and do a "silent" install, which will hopefully bypass the error. The disadvantage of this is that you won't know how the installation proceeds and you won't see any errors/warnings etc it encounters.

A bit ironic, I made that application to make it easier for people to install some types of mods, but it seems like it creates more problems than it solves. :)

THANK THE LORD!!! IT'S ALIVE!!! IT'S ALIVE!!!

Thanks for the help the program works fine now...

I modified the changes.ini file like you said and it worked!

However I think it was my RTF file that was screwing up the installation...

THANKS!!! Hak pad works great!!!

Though even with this incident, I'm still going to keep placing "#3" option for install logging ;)

I have just 1 more question about this :p
In the Misc Menu for the items, where are the components?
I looked and I didnt found them.
Components don't have an specific item?
If so, then which item there can be used to make lots of it?

Yah, I noticed this too :fist:

Apparently when adding components/chemicals and such.. they appear as broken items in a store's inventory...(damn it all)...

The broken items can be 'broken down' into components for use with the workbench, but unfortunately it still doesn't solve the missing chemicals... :(

I'm working on a booster pack that will correct this 'oversight'.. by adding another node similiar to the ATM function... From there, you'll be able to receive chemicals and components...

I should have it done sometime within the week... sorry about that, but there will be other goodies released with the Booster Pack as well to make up for it.. hehehe :D

You will ALWAYS the the "Master" man :D

and as a "bonus".... I present the...

TSL Hak Pad Booster Pack v1.0

http://www.jumpstationz.com/games/mods/HakPadBooster1.htm

1. SUMMARY:
===========

** Attention **

This is NOT a standalone mod! You will need to download and
install my TSL Hak Pad Mod in order for this Booster Pack to
work. You can get my Hak Pad Mod at either of these 2 sites:

http://www.pcgamemods.com/mod/14083.html
http://www.jumpstationz.com/games/mods/HakPad.htm

----------------------------

This is an expansion pack to my TSL Hak Pad cheat mod. It
includes bug fixes for the chemicals and components functions.
Apparently chemicals and components appear as 'broken items'
when placed in a storefront. This Booster Pack adds a "give"
function to bypass this quirk. PLUS it adds a few more goodies!

- Added Lightside Mastery
- Added Darkside Mastery
- Added Create Chemicals Option
- Added Create Components Option
- Added Function to receive the Lightsaber Quest Parts!
- Added Function to "train" NPC's into a Jedi Class! (Hanharr
& Mandalore options included)
- Tweaked a few dialogue tree descriptions / categories

On a sidenote, thanks to feedback from the Original Hak Pad Mod,
I have found that this mod also works for the Xbox!

2. STATS: (with Booster Pack)
=============================

- Workbench
- Component Bench
- Medical Bench
- Virtual Items Storefront
- Awards LS / DS Points
- Dispense Credits

ChAiNz.2da, I've just released Holowan Cloakworks 2:

http://www.andargor.com/files/holowan_cloakworks2.zip

Would it be possible to include it in the Hak Pad under "Disguises"? All the armbands are labeled, so that would make it easy to choose one, and whittle out the bad ones.

Like I said, no sense to re-release the Emporium since you've done a better job with the Hak Pad, but integrating Cloakworks in a shopping mod is something I'd always wanted to do.

Consider it done! :D

I'll start on it when I get home from work, however if you want... you can make a Disguise Shop and tweak the dialogue options in the Hak Pad (I'd use the .dlg from my latest Booster Pack) to point to an "Andagor Disguise" Shop.

Since the Hak Pad was pretty much inspired by your work, you of all people definitley have "permission" to alter the Hak Pad and re-release as a public mod :)

Just let me know if you intend to, otherwise I'm going to start working on it when I get home ;)

Nah, I'd like to not mix up the cards, I'd rather it be integrated in your mod.

You can start now if you wish, but I'll investigate the options mentionned in my release thread to see if I can produce something "lighter". So you can wait a bit if you wish.

I have to absorb all this new knowledge. I could have something as early as tonight (EST), or a couple of days at most.

Hey ChAiNz  I"m confused :D (big suprise? ;) )

Why would he need to put out another version? I'm just learning about your KILLER mod here now and will be reading up on it today. From what I can tell though can't he just edit one of the "extra" 2da items lists and make them buildable there? Then he could just release the edited .2da with the cloakworks?

Sorta like I'm gonna do for Svösh's rob fix models? Make your files and put a linkie to the original modders work kind of thing.

I'm prob. wrong but if you could do that it would keep your download numbers going since it would now also be part of another mod and be required to run it :D

Well, all it would be really is a Booster Pack (like my latest)... I'll always keep it so that you'll have to download the original Hak Pad, and I'll just build on to it from there.

(though I'm not really interested in the download counts... my site gets much more traffic for my mods than PCGM surprising enough)....

One thing that I'm going to try and do is make future Boosters "backwards compatible" meaning Booster Pack 2 (coming soon.. hehehe) will include the new stuff PLUS whatever was done in Booster Pack 1... etc. etc. ;)

Just install my Hak Pad after the Holowan Plugin... the Hak Pad uses the installer so it will append itself to the very end of the spells.2da and automatically change the .uti properties to make it compatible ;)

Hey ChAiNz.2da, I think I'll go with the dialog+script route for integrating Cloakworks 2 into Hak Pad. You can call another .dlg, right?

I'll send you a stub .dlg and script in a short while which has only one disguise. That'll be the entry point so you can code it in, and then I can do the dirty work to add all of them to the dlg and script. After, I send you the full dlg and script. Cool?

Or you can just code something to call hl_cloakworks2.dlg, and make just a dummy for now.

Sounds groovy :D

Yeah, I can call to another .dlg... It's what I used to launch the different workbenches from the Hak Pad.. it's just a .dlg node calling another .dlg (via script) ;)

Question. Would you want the Hak Pad to open a virtual storefront to access the Cloakworks Armbands? or would you rather have the Hak Pad to strictly be the "instrument" in which the player's appearance changes?

I can see advantages and disadvantages to both... however if going the Hak Pad 'instrument' route.. you might want to have the script call to the user of the HP (ie - which party member is currently selected as leader) rather than "GetFirstPC"... otherwise the HP will only change the PC's appearance (whereas the armbands will allow any Party member change appearance)...

I just realized this problem with the LS / DS points function. The function only affects the PC rather than the party 'leader'... :fist:

at least I think that's the problem.. hehehe (me) <-- script-tard®

andargor
07-25-2005, 03:47 PM
I'll go with strict scripting, since that avoids the tons of UTIs. The dialog will have the full list of selectable disguises.

The script is working, but now I see what you mean: only the PC is affected, even if an NPC activates the item. I'm working on it.

Andargor

This is the stub I was talking about, it only has an entry for Evil Kreia:

http://www.andargor.com/files/hl_cw2_scripted.zip

By using OBJECT_SELF instead of GetFirstPC(), it avoids the effect being applied to the PC only. The conversation routines seem to always think that the PC is speaking, even if an NPC is leader.

The only side-effect is that the leadership gets transferred back to the PC, even if an NPC activated the band. The NPC gets the disguise, however, so that's OK.

I've tested it with the team at Freedon Nadd's Tomb, and it works fine there too.

I'll populate the dialog now with all of the available disguises.

Hey ChAiNz,

One quick question???

I noticed you can train party members right? So if you train say Mira "before" you'd normally train her with USM installed will it "nullify" all the chat with her and the training you can give her and the like? Or will she just act like she's just been trained normally?

Tadaaa!

<squeaky pre-pubescent Anakin voice>
It's working! It's working!
</squeaky pre-pubescent Anakin voice>

It was a lot harder than I thought, since there is a limit of 30 entries per dialog page... So I had to break everything down. Definitely more user-friendly now.

@General Kenobi
Hmmm... I haven't fully tested it, but I'll make sure to put that on my immediate "to do" list... I don't think there will be a problem, but I'll double-check to make sure...

I DID test on whether getting the Saber Quest parts before Bao joining the party would break anything, and thank goodness it doesn't... though it's pointless anyways since you need him in order to complete the quest ;)... so no worries about getting your parts on Peragus if you feel it necessary ;)

I was so impressed with this MOD that I wanted to let Mr. ChAiNz know as well as you that might happen upon this thread.

ChAiNz has taken the time to not upgrade or improve the cheat console system for TSL, BUT actually reinventing the idea into a whole new concept for "cheating" that will allow the user to do so much more than just get items.

As I just said yes you can get items but it is by no means the most impressive feature of this mod! Right off the bat going in you know the quality is #1 with anything of ChAiNz.2da's MOD's in general. (At this point you should feel free to type a few things in the invisible cheat console; shortly you'll NEVER be using it again anyway) From utilizing his Hak Pad MOD now available and its additional add on booster pac you can not only make the party members Jedi before their time, BUT make those Jedi that were never meant to be. The droids are all that are safe from your new Jedi Makin' powers with this MOD to TSL.

The items lists are impressive as well as utilizing an item to (the pad) get to them that once you have it, it's always available and even your party members can use it. :D Now when you are T3 and having to fight 3 hunter/killer droids when leaving Vogga's warehouse you can make new items right on the spot if need be! :D You can be taking Dxun's Sith tomb and run out of med packs and be on the verge of death with no worries now! Simply engage the pad and in seconds you can have as many medpacks as you need to get you through. A new stealth field unit, a new shield, a new saber, the combinations are endless.

Now you can "rectify" the DS/LS points prior to having either Mira or Hanharr picked for you by the game so now YOU can actually choose regardless if what your true alignment might be. You can always have your alignment adjusted to it's previous state by utilizing our new favorite item the pad once again.

This MOD is a MUST DOWNLOAD!!! and is sure to be a hit with even the most novice player in their quest to either conquer or join the Dark Side of the Force.

5/5 Lil' Pink Drunk Elephant rating can't be wrong :D

There's one slight thing though... I wouldn't quite say "re-inventing"... more like re-hashing the idea ;)

andargor holds that title and his mod is an inspiration for this mod. Not only am I thankful he "came back" to Holowan (glad to finally get to "meet" you... hehehe), but has also offered yet another one of his outstanding mods, the Holowan Cloakworks [TSL] to be implemented...

How's number 3 goin' ChAiNz?

Wanted to ask a quick question (at work so I can't check), is the Hak Pad 2da based? Meaning does it pool the items from the ingame lists or are there custom lists for the categories? Like say Jedi Robes and such? Where it's listed as a numbered option of a build screen to go into; is there a custom .2da file attached to it?

#3 (or Booster #2) is going well... thanks to Tupac & Darth333.

I've got the entire Holowan Cloakworks integrated, and working on some more goodies before I release another Booster... ;)

PLUS another idea popped in my head the other night... but that's for another post ;)

as for .2da's... nope.. not a one (other than one line in the spells.2da). Using the installer with it though hopefully has kept any problems down...

All of the items in the HakPad are .utm based and launched as a shop (via dialogue & script)...

and the functions are strictly .dlg + script based. Unless I start incorporating custom .2da's.. I want to try to keep the Hak Pad .2da free as much as possible. Since it's main purpose is for cheats and "fun" most everything should be possible (or already done... hehehe).. :)

TSL Hak Pad - Booster Pack v2

Grab it while the gettin's good folks!

http://www.pcgamemods.com/mod/14872.html

1. SUMMARY:
===========

** Attention **

This is NOT a standalone mod! You will need to download and install my TSL Hak Pad Mod in order for this Booster Pack to work. You can get my Hak Pad Mod at either of these 2 sites:

http://www.pcgamemods.com/mod/14083.html
http://www.jumpstationz.com/games/mods/HakPad.htm

----------------------------

This is another expansion pack to my TSL Hak Pad cheat mod. It is also backwards compatible with my Booster Pack v.1, meaning you don't have to download it (if you haven't already) to get the functions it added. If you HAVE downloaded it, then just overwrite the files when prompted :D

With permission, andargor has allowed me to incorporate his Holowan CLoakworks 2 Disguise mod! Over 500+ disguises are now available (PC & NPC)!

andargor - http://www.andargor.com/

- Added andargor's Holowan CLoakworks 2 Disguises function
- Tweaked a few dialogue tree descriptions / categories
- Added Set PC / NPC's Level
- Added Adjust Skill Point Levels Function
- Added Adjust Attribute Scores Function
- **Added a "hidden" Special Interface for other Modder's Tools

** What this means is that if you happen to have the following mods installed, you can access it's functions through the Hak Pad without having to equip it!
You WILL however have to download and install their mods for this function to be available. You will also need to have their mod items in your inventory (the actual armbands).
But don't worry! If you don't have the mods, the special dialogue won't appear! (No need to worry about accidentally choosing an invalid function and crashing your game).

- Darth333's Wherami Armband
http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php
http://www.geocities.com/d333mods/index.html

- RedHawke's Mistake Correction Armband

http://www.citlink.net/~redhawke/

- mrdefender's Wrist Console
http://www.pcgamemods.com/u/1214/
http://www.jediarchives.ca/

If you have already installed the above mods and they're working fine, DON'T CHANGE a thing! BUT, if you would like to download and use them via the Hak Pad, here's a little tip... just install all of the files WITHOUT the spells.2da. That's right, you won't need to edit it because the Hak Pad will directly access it's functions via the item's dialogue! How's that for a "hack"?!.. hehehe
Keep in mind, if you don't install their entries in the spells.2da, you won't be able to use the item on it's own (you'll HAVE to use the Hak Pad to use their mods)... just a warning ;)

On a sidenote, thanks to feedback from the Original Hak Pad Mod, I have found that this mod also works for the Xbox!

2. STATS: (with Booster Pack v.2)
=================================

- Workbench
- Component Bench
- Medical Bench
- Virtual Items Storefront (FREE Items)
- Awards LS / DS Points
- Dispense Credits
- Create Chemicals Option

- andargor's Holowan CLoakworks 2 Disguises (over 500+)
- Set PC / NPC's Level
- Adjust Skill Point Levels
- Adjust Attribute Scores
- Special Interface for other Modder's Tools

3. USAGE:
=======

Though this mod is not a standalone mod, just a Booster Pack, the cheats below are for the actual Hak Pad.

1-) with cheats enabled, type "~" (without quotes) and enter:

giveitem hak_pad

2-) Press "ENTER"

** For the Anti-Console,

You're out of luck. Since this IS a "cheating/just for fun mod", I didn't feel "right" about adding it in the game. Kinda defeats the purpose. I'd suggest using tk102's Save Game Editor to get it:

http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php

Plus, since it's useable from the get go, there's no need to "back track" your steps or start a new game in order to get it.

Hey ChAinZ how about in the next booster (if any) the option to turn GOD mod on and off??? I think that would be a good add on :D

hehe.. saw your request ;)

Sounds doable, and I had actually debated on adding that function in version 2 but passed it up because I needed to get some web work done. So.. while we're at it, does anyone else have any requests for the next Booster? (no promises on delivery date... keep that in mind) :D

Yay another update!!!

Oh I might be wrong but I can't seem to able to turn Brianna (Handmaiden) into a Jedi Guardian...

I think this is because of the dialogue you fire the script "hak_hand_gard.ncs". However I checked all the scripts that you've included into this Mod and I can't find it...Instead I find "hak_hand_jgard.nsc", I've also noticed this anamoly in your previous Hak Pad versions...

Am I right or wrong?

BUT IT'S STILL GOOD ANYHOW!!!

Easy way to fix that would be to make the dialog fire the hak_hand_jgard script instead of hak_hand_gard. Just open it up and add the j into the script node.

Silly me, I'm still thinking in a model perspective. You can't rename those after you compile. At least not without having to mess with the files inner info. :p I always forget you can rename NCS's, I usually end up recompiling my script when I name it incorrectly.

DONE! You can download the Fix here:

http://www.jumpstationz.com/games/mods/HakPad/HakPad-HandmaidenFix.rar

Contains Fixes for either Booster Pack version. :D

Thanks for catching the mistake yohan

** NOTE: If you have ALREADY "self-fixed" this, be sure that the Handmaiden's
dialogue node points to "hak_hand_jgard". Either change your .dlg file, or
re-name the .ncs back to "hak_hand_jgard.ncs".

The reason I say change it back, is that future Boosters will use this method. It helps if I nip it at the origin rather than having to constatnly remind everyone to re-name a file after each release :)

readme: I goofed! Ooops!

Thanks to Yohan for catching my mistake :D

Hak Pad Thread:
http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=149446

Apparently, if you try to train the Handmaiden in a Guardian Jedi Class,
my dialogue calls upon a non-existent script (a typo).

Depending on the Hak Pad Booster Pack you are using, just overwrite the
"hakpad_start.dlg" in your override with the file included in this fix.

It's VERY important you use the correct version of .dlg for the correct
version of the Booster you are using, otherwise you'll have missing entries,
or possible choice nodes that will crash your game if selected...

Sorry everyone!

yah, all of the disguises haven't been tested yet (being there's 565 of them)... but I tried to make sure that everyone got the nice:

** Warning, some of these disguises can crash your game ;)

eventually I'll have a list of non-usable disguises, and I'll update the Hak-Pad so it'll no longer be a necessary warning :)

But thanks for the heads up Ossus... every bit helps, please feel free to keep listing them (that goes for everyone) if you find a disguise that doesn't work :D

ChAiNz how about the "add-on" feature of being able to set your party roster's influence level??? ;) It would be really handy for those "aah crap didn't talk enough to Mira to train her kinda thing fixes." :D

Even though you can train Mira anytime you choose after she joins, I can never seem to get party members to build a lightsaber SAVE for when I follow up with the normal "I wanna train you stuff like normal." Once say I, get the heads up on Atton from the Twilek boys on Nar Shaddaa and do the talk through and ask him and train him like normal he'll build one and then me one.

Just an Idea :D

RedHawke's Mistake Correction Armband

The bonus to this is, not only is it a great mod, but because RedHawke gave me permission, you can acces the armband functions "via" the HakPad ;)

Just make sure to install his mod, then spawn the armband so that it's in your inventory. The HakPad searches through a PC's inventory and if it finds "rh_correction.uti" a special hidden dialogue will show up in the HakPad interface :D

here's a tip ;)

The way the Hak Pad searches and calls the other mods, you don't have to do anything to the spells.2da... my Hak Pad bypasses it. Just remember though, if you don't edit the spells.2da, you can only activate their mods via the Hak Pad :D

Quite possibly :)

There's a few more functions I'd like to add, so I have a feeling this will be a "neverending" mod .. hehehe..

I've taken a break from modding at the moment... I was slacking on my web duties on things I had promised to make happen. That's something I can't personally let happen, so I had to crack-down on myself.. bad ChAiNz...bad... :xp:

After I feel comfortable with the additions and commit some time to other obligations, I'll probably return to the Hak Pad (and other half-done mods I have sitting around)... :smash:

I've still got some disguise testing to get done, and I'm going to try and add the Invulnerability toggle that was requested so I'm in no way close to being "done" with it... still tons of "goodies" out there to be added...

In the meantime, now would be the best opportunity for everyone to add to the 'wishlist' of functions... ;)

Hak Pad - Darth333's Wherami Armband Fix

Attenion All!

OK peepz, I goofed on the Darth333's wherami band cheat node. DOH! :headbump

I accidentally called to the dialogue rather than the actual impact script. So if you were to use it, players wouldn't get the coordinates written to the fb.exe application for X, Y, Z Bearing and Orientation...

Just drop the files into your override folder (or wherever the Hak Pad is installed) and overwrite the files should it ask you.

This fix should be used on the Hak Pad WITH Booster Pack v.2 installed!

Correct. If you don't use the armband it's not a necessary fix, however if you do decide to use it in the future, it wouldn't hurt to have it already installed rather than wonder why it isn't working after about 1-2 hours of romping about "thinking" you were recording coordinates ;)

Sorry if that sounds stupid, but I also have this "installer" tool, though I don't know how it works, and I'm unsure as to whether you meant for me to use that.

Also, incredible job on the USM and the Hak Pad. When a mod can make me want to continue playing a game despite having beaten it several times, that's a good sign. =P

the USM doesn't have an installer, just make sure that all the USM files are in your override folder...

the Hak-Pad does have an installer, and will install all the files for that mod into your override folder for you, if you run the installer and folow the instructions...

I think the only thing you need to do to add items to the hak-pad are to edit the itemscreate.2da, itemscreatemira.2da and the chemicalcreate.2da files. I think, if i remember right, the hak-pad uses the same 2da files as the workbench and the chem. lab...

If they have installers, it definitely wouldn't hurt to use them as it will enable you to use their mods independant of the HakPad (in case you don't like it)... it may require you to combine the spells.2da table doing it this way.. just be prepared :)

If you don't use their installers, the one thing you definitely want to make sure of (besides reading their readme's) is that their armband .uti files MUST be in your override directory (not in a subfolder).. as well as any of their .dlg, .ncs, etc. Basically, as you said, everything but the spells.2da hehehe ;)

Finally, i suppose the last thing I do is copy/paste the Booster files, and overwrite as asked? I just want to make sure the correct files get overwritten.Yup, the booster(s) will only replace the necessary files to upgrade the functions of the Hak Pad.. overwrite everything it asks to (Yes To All). Booster Pack 2 is backwards compatible, meaning it contains everything that Booster Pack v1 had.. so you don't have to install both of them.. just Pack 2 (after the initial installation that is).. :)

Hi!

I just started playing Kotor 2 after ditching SWG since the NGE made that game unplayable.
After all, it was Kotor that made me wanna play more RPG games and lead me to SWG pre cu, the golden days.
Anyways, I can't get your mod to work
I've added EnableCheats=1 in the notepad.
Then I added ~giveitem hak_pad in the next line and pressed ENTER.
But when I load my saved game I still don't have the hak pad in my inv.
What am I doing wrong?
I'm no pc wizz so maybe I need a walkthroug on how to complete the installation of the mod...

Thanks in advance for any help you may offer:-)

You don't enter cheat codes in the swkotor2.ini file, you have to enter those in the game while your particular savegame is loaded, load your save then type the code. For more on how to do cheats in TSL try this thread here. (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=144049) ;)

This thread here (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=119128) also is applicable to TSL even though it is for KotOR I (the other link I gave you refrences this thread anyway).

I just like to add that I have a euro layout on my keyboard...
I tried pressing the ~ key but I can't see where to type.
Also when I typed "giveitem" my inv window pops up when I hit the "i" key.
So I can't really get to finish the order I'm suppose to type.
I tried this after I loaded my save game and was in game.
This is supposed to work only when loading a saved game?

in TSL when you press ~ the console is invisible so do ~ then time giveitem if it still happens another way is to download the Kotor Save Game editor and give it to you that way.

Someone said that he added "Enable Console=1" in the ini.file.
No that won't work, you have to do the ini edit as instructed in the thread.

HOW TO ENABLE CHEATS:

Find the file called "swkotor2.ini" in your Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords game folder. Edit the file with Notepad and under the line [Game Options] add the following line:
EnableCheats=1
Also the console is invisible in TSL so you won't see anything. The KotOR I Cheats thread I linked you to above has several posters with Swedish keyboards and they gave key combinations, those would be the first you should try.

Some suggestions: That I see in that thread anyway.
Shift+´+backspace
Shift+´
Alt+´

Failing this if I were you I would seriously consider just downloading KSE or KotOR Savegame Editor (http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php), as you can also add items to your invantory with that.

I Hope this helps! :D

Agreed.

KSE is above & beyond comparison, it is THE tool to have for cheats (and a great modder's tool).. however, if you really want the Hak Pad as well.. simply use KSE to give yourself the Hak Pad.. now you'll not only have the most powerful cheater's tool.. but my measly Hak Pad as well.. hehehe ;)

When you're typing the cheat code (which is invisible) you'll need to be in the game itself... a good hint that the console isn't activated is when you said that typing "i" brings up your inventory.

The only thing that needs to be added to your .ini is the "EnableCheats=1" line.

Instructions:
Find the file called "swkotor2.ini" in your game folder. Edit the file with Notepad and under the line [Game Options] add the following line:

EnableCheats=1

Let me know if it works or not... KSE is by far the easiest way to give it to yourself, but I can make a way to get it in game if the problem persists (seems to be a common dilemma according to my emails.. hehehe)..

I finally got the hapad in my inventory BUT I can't use it...
It says it's a non useable item when I click on it.
I also tried to go to a workbench but still I can't access it.
As you prolly know by now, I am not a wiz on these things, lol.
I just finished KOTOR 2 as lightside Jedi and would like to explore it as a dark one.
I also like to try some of the items I didn't get to use the 1st time.
Thank you in advance. :-)

when i try to use the booster pack 2 the ha pad doesnt appear where the armbands do. have any ideas how to fix it?

great mod anyway!

How are you installing it? I'm not sure how to 'fix' something without a little more details... ;)

Booster Pack2 will require the original to be installed first (original does not mean Booster Pack1), however all that needs to be done is drop the files in your override directory.. allowing it to overwrite the files that it "warns" about (Click Yes)...

Also, if you've installed a mod after the Hak Pad that overwrites the spells.2da (rather than merging them) then that will for sure mees up the Hak Pad...

Can you help me? I'm having issues, and I'm about as green as a girl can get, when it comes to this stuff.

I've dragged-and-dropped the folder "TSL Hak Pad" onto my Desktop. When I go to the installer, I get past the ReadMe, and I specify the destination of the mod.

Then I get the following error:

• Installation started 5/18/2006 5:38:21 PM...
• Error! Invalid game folder specified, dialog.tlk file not found! (GEN-7)

I have no idea what this means. I don't have any other files in my Override.

Please help.
Amy.

What file folder did you select? It sounds like you chose this one C:/Program Files/LucasArts/SWKotOR2/Override. And if you did it should be C:/Program Files/LucasArts/SwKotOR2/. Hope it helps.

I tried that. This time, I got:

• Error! Invalid game folder specified! (GEN-6)

Easy way: rightclick on the TSL icon on desktop and select properties. The path which is set on "Start in" or "Working directory" (depends of OS) is the path that you need to specify at the instalation.

Im preaty new to these boards so I hope Im not out of place in asking this. Iv been looking at your mod for a while and I have to say I love it, Iv been playing the X box version for a good time till I found out about the mod group trying to add the content that was left out back into the game. Your mod lets me find all the stuff I never got to grab and just all in all fool around. Would it be possible to add "feats" to the hak pad? so you can get feats that arnt in your class or belong to a differnt charcter? Like the Handmaidens hand to hand stuff? <I>Really hopes Im not bumping this thread </I>Thanks in advance eather way.

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS :D

I use my Hak Pad with Darth333's Where Am I armband and MRDefender's Wrist Console. The Wrist Console (last updated version) can give you whatever feats you want without being this or that class. Feats/Powers I mean.

I use my Hak Pad then choose to go into other mods and then choose the wrist console from MR. ;)

Hope that helps you a bit & have a good day,

Just because I have the burning need to say it--ChAiNz, I am in LOVE with your Hak Pad. I edit the storefronts with K-GFF (since I didn't read how to do it with Kotor Tool, might try that) to test out new items I've made...it works really well for mod testing. Having it compatible with the Darth333's Whereami band, MrDefender's Wrist Console, and RedHawke's Mistake Correction band just makes it insanely useful for mod testing, too.

Oh, and of course, cheating like heck.

I have come across a problem with it though--is there a limit to the number of items one can 'buy' from a storefront before the game chokes and crashes? I tried to clear out the Jedi storefront in one go and my game decided to crash when I got about half-way through.

General Kenobi has the best idea on this :)

I use my Hak Pad with Darth333's Where Am I armband and MRDefender's Wrist Console. The Wrist Console (last updated version) can give you whatever feats you want without being this or that class. Feats/Powers I mean.
I tried not to incorporate functions that there were already mods out there for (why re-invent the wheel?.. hehehe). That's why I wanted the Hak Pad to be compatible with some of the best cheat/utility mods out there. With the inclusion of "activation dialogue" of Darth333's, RedHawke's & mrdefender's mods.. you've pretty much got the motherload of adjustments at your fingertips.

Also, because of the way the compatibilities work, it offers the players the choice of what he/she wants as far as functionality. For those who are tempted too easily to cheat :devsmoke:

The Hak Pad's extra functions will only be choosable when you install the addtional mods by Darth333, RedHawke & mrdefender, so you won't have to worry about HUD clutter, or the need to have to 'equip' anything since activation of the mods can take place within the Hak Pad interface. Just be sure to read the readme's of the mods and remember that you must have the other modder's armbands in your inventory (not equipped)... oh, and of course, the Booster Pack v2 of the Hak Pad (http://www.jumpstationz.com/games/mods/HakPadBooster2.htm) ;)

Another thing you might want to consider is getting tk102's KotOR Savegame Editor (KSE) (http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php). This is by far the ultimate cheat/utility/tool a player or modder could ask for.. and it will "for sure" be able to grant anything to anyone.. hehehe

Just because I have the burning need to say it--ChAiNz, I am in LOVE with your Hak Pad.
Thank you for the kind comments Princess Artemis Makes modding worth it after reading something like this :D

I tried to clear out the Jedi storefront in one go and my game decided to crash when I got about half-way through. That I'm not sure of since I was always afraid to clean-house with an entire storefront.. hehehe

However I wouldn't doubt it. I placed everything and I mean everything in the storefronts so the game may not react kindly if you happen to try to "buy" certain stunt model varieties of items and what-not.

One thing I forgot to keep in mind is that with TSL, only certain 'special' items are available in certain modules.. (one of the reasons it's extremely hard to get a Dancer Uniform on any planet/area besides Nar Shadaa).. that might be a cause of the problem, or it could be an inventory "overloead" (doubtful, but you never know)...

I bet that's what it was...I don't remember exactly, but I was at the crystals and there was this weirdo 'door cutting +1' or something crystal--I think I bought that and vaporized my game. I'll just remember to avoid the strange stuff unless I have a save handy :)

The title of the folder browser window where you select installation location reads: "Please select the folder where your game is installed."

I.e. you should not select the override folder, but the folder where your game is located. (The folder that contains the swkotor2.EXE file and the override folder.) :)

How are you getting it to your Xbox in the first place? Is there a way you can use tk102's Savegame Editor to just alter your save then port/ftp it over to your Xbox?

i am using ftp to access my xbox ... also problem with the savegame editor is that with the xbox if you add any items it will just kill the save it is the same for some of the other functions ... only way to get the hak pad at the moment would be to put it in a placable or some other way i dont know of but i am not a good modder so i wouldent know how to do that

Edit: ok i tryed to edit the save but as i thought it will just damage the save by adding items also i cant make a mod to put it in a placable because i only have the xbox version and it isnt as easy so is it possible you could make a placable .. thanx

most xbox savegame files are incrypted. Most of them use a specific string of data called a "signature" to keep the safe. If you alter the save in anyway, the string changes and the game won't loaded it because its the wrong signature.

If you think kotor's signature's hard, Forza Motorsports are Hard Drive keyed, so you can only use your own save on your own xbox....

Anyway, you'll need XsavSig to resign the Saves, that way, you can play altered saves. you need to follow a specific path to get to it that involves IRC and FTP, but I can Download it for you and email it to you.

hehehe.. didn't think I'd be posting many more mods (long since TSL retired) but I happened up on an Add-On I've been holding on for some time now while digging around my archives.

With the success of the USM, I had received a ton of requests for saber console codes, bugs, etc. regarding the USM. Initially the group and I were hestitant about this particular Hak Pad add-on because we really wanted people to experience the USM as it was intended.

Well, after a number of years now (wow) I think it's safe to say that a majority of the player base has experienced enough to choke a bantha. Probably a bit too late.. as many of us have moved on, but better than never I suppose :xp:

I don't have any screenies since I no longer have the game installed, but I'm pretty sure this is a working mod (was in my FINALS folder).

Despite the bile building up, I installed TSL to test and everything seems to be working. Screenies index can be found here. Large 1920x1080 pics, be warned. (there's a TON):

Click for USM Hak Pad Screenies (http://www.jumpstationz.com/games/mods/HakPadUSM/hires)

If you run in to any problems, lease let me know ASAP and I'll see what I can do to fix thing :)

Hak Pad - USM Shop add-on

This will add a USM Saber Shop dialogue node in the Storefronts section.

Just drop these files (excluding the .nss source) into your override folder, or wherever you have the Hak Pad installed.

********************

You MUST have the USM, Original HakPad AND the Booster Pack v2 installed as the dialogue included in here uses them as a base.
