I actually find this funny.

And what I find even funnier is this quote:

"The Minneapolis-based watchdog group, founded by Dr. David Walsh, previously decried the game for its glorification of cop-killing with an online petition. Now the group is issuing a National Parental Warning for the game, giving concerned mothers and fathers a heads-up that their children could be playing with their joysticks in an inappropriate way."

PlayStation 2s aren't very hacker-friendly Lol, BS.

Anyway, another report about an idiotic censor group that can't take care of their own kids so they want the government and the stores to do it for them.

Well anybody you ask about the GTA series can tell you kids should not be playing it. I wouldn't be letting a kid under 13 play that game. And even at 13 i would be skeptical. I never played Grand Theft Auto till i was in 14. If your mature than you can handle it. Parents are stupid if they go buy what their kids ask for without finding stuff out about it first.

Yeah, I really think it's inapropiate to let children play all these violent video games, as they are very easily influated. Someone should come up with a system that prevents people that are under 18 from buying it. Like a box labeling or something like that.

Sadly, I personally have seem many parents buying GTA for their kids (all of whom seem to be under 12) at my local Wal-Mart, as well as other games like it., simply because they say "well Jimmy has it!" and their parents just go with it, not even caring in the least :/

On topic, I just have to say that some people have no right to let others in on their fantasys.

Young kids + GTA = no-no

Mature (and sane) people at least 14 or 15 and above + GTA = alright

If someone goes out there and kills someone because they thought they were still in a video game, they were messed up in the head way before they got their hands on a controller.

And I find that whole thing quite hilarious. PS2s not hacker friendly, bull****, talk to the people getting linux to run on ps2s, gamecubes, xboxes, blenders, toasters, etc.

It's pretty much just place the disc in, download a particular program, click run bam. You just accessed all the data on the disc. You are now capable of data manipulation and have broken 37 different laws.

I don't believe it makes them "idiots" that they didn't comb through all their code to make sure that they'd removed all inappropriate stuff. It wasn't enabled, and thus wasn't a part of the finalized game.

But hey, that's just me =/

comb through it? I see where your coming from. but if 2 days after the game came out on PC a regular modder found the code to use, there is no combing to do. Its remove it. they just were stupid and im sure they have some very "good" excuse as to why they failed to remove it.

I was looking at this stuff last week and saw a video of it... Really weird and funny :p
Low Poly boobs especially turn me on. :xp:

I also have a related story to tell: I was at Gamestop a few days ago looking at games, when two boys, ages (appox.) 7 and 9. The younger one was kinda hyperactive and loud. So they came in, looking at the PS2 games and stuff, each holding a DS. They start saying really loud in a high pitched voice: "I want Grand Theft Auto! Where is Vice City!?"

They looked around and found San Andreas, and the little kid goes "I dont like that one, I want Vice City!" Everyone in smiling at eachother and giggling quietly, rolling our eyes at these funny kids.

Then they walk up to the guy at the desk and put there DS' by themselves and say "We want to trade these and get Grand Theft Auto!" The clerk tells them they need the power cables and their parents cause they are really young and stupid. So they get all sad and act like its all cool. "Oh, okay, I'll get them later!" And they start asking for Vice City.

The guy humors them and helps them find an Xbox copy of the game. They go back up to the desk and askes for the price, he (lies) tells them its $50. So they all get unhappy and stuff. And well, I wish it ended better, but they just leave looking for their parent with DS' in hand. :p

Yeah, that about does it.

I propose we devance back to the Midieval Ages, but before that, give everyone Sex Changes to one gender call "Gemale", with no reproductive organs, then smash our heads with rocks until we can't feel emotions.

Anyone found being happy will be kicked in the crotch repeatedly until they bleed and will then be repeatedly sodomized with a cactus.

You know, you'll probably end up fulfilling some weirdo's dream at some point in your happiness removal adventure... :p

Personally, I don't like being abused by a cactus... but... there's someone that might...

I always wonder why it's okay for us to kill people mercilessly (or watch people do it), but should we shag (or watch people do it) it's horrible and completely reprehensible.

I fail to see how murder is okay but sexing your significant other is wrong.

ESRB like the MPAA ratings are only guidelines that dont have to be followed, they are not law. most stores/theatres go along with their ratings, but they cannot be charged with a crime for letting a 16 yr old into a R movie or selling a M game to a kid.

I thought they could, although maybe its a state-specific law or something.
In the UK you can definately get charged for selling 18 cert. films to underage kids etc... though i doubt you would.

Anybody who gets off on a computer generated video game charector sex scene needs helpidiot.

Just to play devils' advocate, but surely everything about video games is a case of getting "involved" in a computer generated world, getting attached to computer generated characters and getting affected by computer generated events... so it doesn't seem that getting "involved" in computer generated sex would be any different...

mind you, from what i can see the aim of the mini-game is to press the button as fast as possible to fill up your "satisfaction" meter as quick as possible. There are going to be a lot of disappointed girls out there if a generation of kids learns it's technique from GTA:SA :D

certian stores like Wal-Mart and maybe a couple others i dont remimber, they voluntarily follow these guidelines and will fire employees who go against company policy. But otherwise, I am not aware of any Laws requireing adherence to the ESRB/MPAA's rating systems.

Yeah... They grab the nearest controller and start smaching the button for three hours, then stop and say: "Ahh... I'm satisfied, how 'bout you, ho'?" and walks out the door still fully clothed :D
