And so Scott said, "Beam me up, God"
Goodbye, Mr. Doohan. We shall always remember you
EDIT: [Enter Star Trek music here] Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the engineer of the starship Enterprise. His endless mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before...

I know, I know... I shouldn't joke about this thing, but that would only fit his funeral very nicely...

R.I.P. Scotty, you were the best engineer ever :cry8:

He was given an honorary Degree in Engineering by the Milwaukee School of Engineering where apparently half of the students polled said they were inspired to study engineering by his role in "Star Trek"
From his IMDB trivia.
That's awesome. :D

My fave actor and character of all the ST series. Too bad. I have his autograph on an ancient copy of a ST role-playing game that I have held on to only for that.
He was also a pilot in WWII. In the R.A.F., if I remember correctly. That's very cool.
I know it's coming, totally inevitable in this situation, so I guess I'll be the one to get it out of the way now (Please be assured that I mean it in the best possible taste, and meant in respect for the situation.):
